You could certainly make a case for Georgia Southern -- despite only playing since 1982. 226 wins, 72 losses and 1 tie for a .758 winning percentage. 9,608 points scored, 5,502 given up. A record of 38-9 (.809) in post-season play. National Championships in 1985, 1986, 1989, 1990, 1999 and 2000.

Georgia Southern without a doubt although I have to admit I'm shocked by their performance the past few years.

Will they be back this season for a run at title #7?

Yes. (Montana would be very close with another Championship though).

Look what their former head coach is doing at NAVY also......

If he was still at GSU.....much deeper into the playoffs......

I don't disagree with that statement. While a lot teams would probably like to have our 'down year' results... for the Eagles it certainly is an issue. I think since we lost Paul Johnson we have just lacked a certain focus at times (we can be taken out of our game). But to be sure, GSU will be a threat to take the title in 'anygivenseason'.

Georgia Southern has the All-Time greatests I-AA program.

When the Bison were winning DII Championships, it seemed like it was always Georgia Southern on the I-AA side. Montana and Montana St were the only other programs in I-AA that we ever heard about in North Dakota.

No brainer. It's even more impressive when you consider that GSU is a virtual FB newbie, compared with other more established programs currently residing in I-AA.

A couple more to be considered close in my book. So many playoff appearances due to no competition for their auto for many years, although it's changed a little lately in the BSC.

EXACTLY WHAT DID YOU FIND THAT WAS smart ass about the post??
Sounds like you're a bit touchy to say the least. As I said in my post, I WAS NOT being a smart a* You'll find people correcting grammar, usage, and spelling all the time on here and usually not being wise arses in the process.

BTW Look under "utmost" in your same dictionary and you will find "utmost" as the more appropriate choice of words for the context of the post.

Nice, but we only count National Titles at GSU. We don't care about second place. To us, second place might as well be last place.

For the record though, Montana does have a great tradition.

So you MEANT to tell us about the "location" of your respect rather than the "degree" of your respect?

As I-AA 2005 said, anything you write reflects at least in a small part on the quality of education you did or did not receive at U Mass.

Far better to admit to improper usage than stinkin' thinkin'.

Have a little pride, man.

Below is a short composition from last year to highlight errors made far too (note the two "o"s) frequently by supposedly (not supposably) "educated" people.

(Click on a blue link to see the usage)

As the mighty Griz march toward (http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/toward.html) another national championship, many a conversation is likely to center around seeding (http://www.abc.net.au/classic/breakfast/stories/s894468.htm), polls (http://www.say-it-in-english.com/Lesson27.html), playoff berths (http://www.nationmultimedia.com/edu/edu_back/011210/word.shtml), and game sites (http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/cite.html). The consensus, I’m sure, is that in order to assure (http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/assure.html) ourselves of a berth (http://www.nationmultimedia.com/edu/edu_back/011210/word.shtml), we must dominate (http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/dominate.html) our opponents of the final two weeks. Only by a dominant (http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/dominate.html) performance can we ensure (http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/assure.html) that, if not seeded (http://www.abc.net.au/classic/breakfast/stories/s894468.htm), as a top 4 team, we will at least be a shoo-in (http://www.worldwidewords.org/qa/qa-sho1.htm) for one, if not two, home games.
Playoff sites (http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/cite.html) are selected first on seeding (http://www.abc.net.au/classic/breakfast/stories/s894468.htm), then (http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/than.html) on other criteria as cited (http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/cite.html) in the NCAA selection guidelines. If we lose (http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/lose.html) either game, we may still get a berth (http://www.nationmultimedia.com/edu/edu_back/011210/word.shtml), and a game at home as (to the NCAA) cash is king, and we definitely (http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/definate.html) have that. If you're (http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/your.html) entertaining thoughts however, of even a single loss, nip them in the bud (http://www.randomterrain.com/webdesign/grammar.html). You must maintain the deep-seated (http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/deep.html) faith that no matter who we play – we are better than (http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/than.html) they are…..that we will not lose (http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/lose.html). To whet your appetite (http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/wet.html) consider this – no other I-AA program has experienced the consistent success enjoyed by the Griz. GSU has six flags – I couldn't care less (http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/care.html).
I am confident that the quality of our program will place upon our pole (http://www.say-it-in-english.com/Lesson27.html), as many flags - and more. If perchance we don’t win the trophy this year, you won’t find me running through the streets buck naked (http://www.randomterrain.com/webdesign/grammar.html), tearing at my hair. But if you think we are incapable of winning in this or any year, well……you've got another think coming (http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/thing.html).

I await our third national championship with bated breath (http://www.randomterrain.com/webdesign/grammar.html) .

BTW: A great resource for the grammatically challenged - http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/errors.html#errors

This site also answers the question as to whether up-most is proper.
