No way. Roehl calling a run up the gut with a stacked box? Who would have guessed that.

Grow some ****ing balls and either pass the ball or fire his ass. He is worthless at calling plays.

Agree. This is exactly how they looked in the spring. Good defense and absolutely 0 offense. If they don’t score on defense or special teams they will not beat top teams this fall. 1 and done in the playoffs.

Need to make adjustments to the rule, but the one thing Weber did that they coach against doing is dropping your head, if he had keep it up and lead with the mask it would not have been called.

Need to make adjustments to the rule, but the one thing Weber did that they coach against doing is dropping your head, if he had keep it up and lead with the mask it would not have been called. He is making a tackle. You are going to snap your neck if you keep it up vs going with the momentum of your body. It's why the offense should be called for penalties where the defender has no chance to avoid targeting. This isnt ****ing two hand touch football. The fact that Webber is gone but Benny Sapp still got to play is clear and obvious that these refs should be fired and replaced with those who can be compentent.

The second would be I'd like to see QP2 as a FB/PowerBack in Delta formation. Him, Luepke, Gonnela, and Cam in the formation, he could excel there too.

Hats off to MSU, they played a better game than NDSU and in my mind really should have won that game. But once again NDSU managed to pull a rabbit out of their hat and found a way to win, as they have done so many times in the last 10 years or so. Once Cam Miller came in the whole NDSU team on both sides of the ball just lit things up. Much respect going out to MSU, they are nothing like the past.

TR is going to give me more grey hairs the way he calls the offense. I liked that Jirik asked a very relevant question to Entz at halftime about if there were any adjustments that could be made to the offensive passing game and Entz goes "no". xsmhx

This here 100%

MSU played a great game but "luck" had nothing to do with this win. NDSU earned it. Cam came in and had a spark. Defensive adjustments made the difference in the 2nd half.

Defense and the QB change made the difference in this game. The only way there isn't a QB controversy with the Bison is if we somehow suddenly produce receivers who are 8 feet tall or taller. They'd be the only ones who can catch the throws Patterson makes. His throwing mechanics are bad. Overthrows 70% of his passes. There is a reason he didn't cut it at V. Tech. He'd make a hell of a RB though.

After seeing what happened this spring I won't underestimate this NDSU coaching staff's ability to screw up a starting QB decision. Keep in mind that anyone who questions the offense of a team that won "isn't a winner".

I'm starting to convince myself that Quincy Patterson's shoulder injury is just a convenient excuse for them to start Cam Miller next week so Entz can try to play mind games with SDSU's coaching staff the week after about what QB will play/start.

#2 is not #1 and that is the only thing that is acceptable up here. Most Bison teams over achieve. This years Bison team does not and this has been one of the easiest schedules that the Bison have had for a while. Blow outs against most teams is what is expected. Six point wins at UND and close wins against MSU are not in keeping with history even if those two programs have improved.

It is a tough gig up here. This is the only game in town and all the spot light is on you. I also think the frustration with the “possible” lack of effort from NDSU to try and move up is bleeding into the angst.

He actually got a few decent questions at the last presser. Entz is t going to throw his coaches under the bus or a player but his comments on the Defenses focus during practice this week was interesting. The D isn’t the problem this fall. I thought it was interesting that he got his back up over the D and is pretty silent about the offense but he is an ex defensive coach so that is probably why he is more focused there

He refuses to admit that QP2 cannot make an accurate throw in the >20 yard range and that running the same ****ing shotgun dive play with a 5' 6" RB against a 8/9 man box is not a good idea.

Just admit that Roehl is incompetent as an OC and that you have passed the reigns off to Hedberg for the remainder of the season. It's not that hard.

In fact, I am impressed by Caoch Braun and the defense. He has these kids playing great football. Didnt know much about him but he is doing the right thing. Losing coach Blazek as the O-Line coach was huge. They have a RB coach trying to coach the O-Line which is a horrible thought.

Good game Bears!

Cam should be the starting QB for the Bison and Roehl needs to stop his obsession with the QB runs and get back to more under center and play action. The QB run works great when you use it 4-5 times a game not 20!

I had a pretty low opinion of Roehl and the offense as well but if you look at the numbers on the year they've been more efficient than most of us would think. In the FCS they rank 9th in yards per play (6.55), 2nd in yards per carry (5.88), 13th in yards per pass attempt (8.29), 21st in passing efficiency (144.6), and 25th in 3rd down conversion percentage (43.5%). They're not at the 2017-2019 level of offensive efficiency but they're better than the 2010-2012 teams were. Where they're really struggling this year is in the redzone, in the FCS they're 59th in redzone TD percentage (60.7%) and 61st in redzone score percentage (78.6%). If they fix that their offense will be just fine.

Of course stats are like lingerie... what they reveal is interesting but what they hide is even more interesting.

What do those numbers look like in conference play? Wondering how inflated they are due to our OOC schedule.

We recruited athletes that we developed and molded. We only allowed a transfer if they were previously recruited and/or filled an immediate need and even then, they didn't just see the field. We had coaches who bought into a system and coached those positions. We never allowed complacency and had our athletes believing and knowing that "those who stay, will be champions." We kept coaches and promoted coaches who knew and lived Bison philosophy.

Now, I dont see that. I see athletes transferring in at higher numbers and not producing on the field. I see athletes quitting on the program that gave them everything and not fulfilling their scholarship. I see coaches who are coaching positions they are unfamiliar with. I see coaches who are too stubborn to fix what is clearly broken. I see athletes who no longer can win on talent alone and coaches who are failing to put them in positions to succeed. I see a leadership team that is too arrogant to admit they are wrong and blame everyone else but where the blame should be laid.

My disappointment in Entz and Roehl cannot be understated. I honestly think Braun and the defense are playing above where I think most of us thought they should be. But the fact that Entz has the ****ing balls to call out his DC and that side of the ball should be a fireable offense. Either he is blind or too dumb. We are starting to see Entz's recruits and next year will mainly be his guys. Call me a pessimist or non-Bison fan but I truly believe he is setting the program back and that feeling that I had where NDSU, on a true AGS day, could beat any non top 10 team, has truly left.

How are we honestly struggling to beat GFCC and Missouri St? Losing Trey Lance was a huge shot in the gut, but you cant fault a man for wanting to make millions dollars at the age of 20.

My rant is a lot of stress built up over what I see are serious red flags in the program and AD Larsen acting like everything is fine. Again, Entz could show humility by letting Hedberg try his hand at the OC role but he knows if Hedberg succeeds it will show that he allowed nepotism to rule the day and his inability to see a glaring issue that every fan who doesn't worship 1660 could see. On the flip side, if Hedberg fails as well, then it proves Entz is not a HC. How can you tell me QP2 is only allowed to run 7 plays, (Hail Mary, Shotgun QB Draw, Power A with a 5' 7" 156lb RB, off-tackle, QP2 "scramble", overthrow Zach Matthis, 2yd out route on 3rd and 8), and then Cam Miller can just dominate and open the playbook to where we are seeing plays and formations we thought were buried and burned.

Not nearly as good but that's similar to a typical year. NDSU still has an SOS rank of 39 according to Massey so it's not like the cupcakes are overly represented in those numbers.

I think you're overreacting. I'm starting to think Roehl was more limited by his QB not being able to make accurate short to intermediate throws as he was his own play calling. I'm sure he could've done better calling plays but I don't believe he's an abject failure as an OC though he's definitely a "work in progress" as is Entz. I was super frustrated with their hesitance to go away from Zeb in the spring and if they show that same hesitance now to go away from Quincy after seeing how much more dynamic the offense was with Cam Miller I'm going to pull my hair out again this fall.

In terms of more transfers you better get used to it. With the new one-time undergrad transfer rule no one will be able to survive anymore on 95% recruited high school players like NDSU did in the early to mid 2010s. If NDSU doesn't leverage their position in the recruiting food chain with the transfer portal to get transfers and only loses them they'll fall behind having to continually replace upper classmen transferring out with younger more raw players.

In the end though these NDSU coaches are doing the job they're paid to do and that's win games. When/if they lose a game this fall they'll be forced to get better. Sometimes it takes failure to improve... just look at Craig Bohl's arc at NDSU. Steadily building from 2003-2007. Then he got a little too fat and happy at the tail end of that run, learned from his mistakes, and set the program on an even higher trajectory starting in 2010. The fact they've sustained this level of excellence for so long is a remarkable feat. Chris Klieman will always be underrated IMO for how he kept the train rolling... it's not nearly as easy as people think. Entz is certainly no Klieman but it's not time to throw the baby out with the bath water if he loses a game or two this fall. If he doesn't get better as a coach and learn from his mistakes (as Bohl did) he'll be shown the door but I don't believe he should be canned for making mistake without having a chance to correct them. His main mistake so far is not identifying the fact that QBs like Zeb and Quincy don't fit what NDSU is trying to do on offense. If he continues to make that mistake he won't last at NDSU.

I think Bison fans are severely overreacting to Miller coming in and throw a couple TD passes. He was the backup for a reason after STARTING the end of the spring. He couldn't hardly complete a pass in the spring, after being beat out by Noland, but now he is the answer because he played part of one half?

He was also a true freshman in the spring. I think the coaches botched the decision to go to him then as well... had they gone to him earlier in the spring (after the Illinois St game) I think he would've been much better my playoff time. They hardly played him until the SDSU game so he basically had 3 games against very good teams (SDSU, EWU, and SHSU) as his only starts in the true freshman campaign. Not a very good recipe for success. Still, the offense in the spring wasn't any worse with him than it was with Noland.

He doesn't have to be a playmaker... he just has to give the playmakers he's surround with the chance to make plays which he did with Christian Watson last weekend. I also would hope playing him rather than Patterson gives the RBs more opportunities. Patterson was running it far too much and none of the RBs ever had a chance to get hot and take over a game since none of them were getting more than 10 carries per game. He also looked much better at handling the blitz than Patterson did and everyone had figured out that was the weakness of the Bison offense.

Might want to check some facts before commenting on this stuff. Cam completed 50% of his passes as a true freshman. QP is completing 54% this season as a junior/senior. Cam wasn't exactly beat out by Noland or QP IMO he was relegated to backup because he was a true freshman. They brought in 2 transfers that may or may not be more talented but they aren't or weren't necessarily better QB's. They were given every opportunity to be the starters and the fact is our offense just seems to function better with Cam as QB. He's a coaches kid and seems to know the playbook better. With QP our offense was relying on the QB run game too much and he also appears to have suffered some type of shoulder injury so not sure what his status even is at this point.

Yep. All Cam has to be able to do is be accurate with short and intermediate throws to punish teams that have been blitzing us nonstop, opening up the running game and setting up 3rd and shorts. The offense is going to look a lot like it did from 2011-2016 and that's okay with the way our defense is playing.

Well. Here is the process, if NDSU doesn’t win every game by 20+ then we need to throw poo in disgust and then the hockey clowns from up north have to throw poo and then we have to throw poo at them because they wear hockey jerseys to football games and this will go on for a couple weeks. It is s thang.

Sioux suck ****, so much ****. Hawks suck cock, so much cock.
