View Full Version : Game Thread - YSU vs Indy St.

YSU has a chance to over perform on the season and win a third game. Local paper picks YSU. My pick is YSU, 31-28. Expecting a heavy run game from YSU and heavy pass game from Indy St. Injury forces YSU to start a Frosh at LT. Weather maybe a factor.

Are any YSU fans here in Terre Haute. I just checked two YSU tents NW side of the stadium and no one had even heard of AGS. I thought YSUbigisred was going to be here 😆.

Both teams score on runs. 7 all.

YSU starting QB leaves game with injury. That’s a running threat removed.

Paladin1aa

Indy St scores on 1 yd run. Indy St 14-7

YSU intercepts in the end zone ending an Indy threat.

As you eluded to, without Crenshaw, that weakens our rushing attack. To make matters worse, this backup is just not good. Perhaps they can get DC out there in the 2nd half because this offense isn’t going to be able to do much with the current QB back there.

They just scored didn't they though beam? To be fair to Craycroft, how many snaps do you think he gets? I would expect him to be cold. Not saying he's great, and I do like Crenshaw better, but he's not a bad passing QB.

YSU TD pass with 2 seconds left . 14 all.

You are correct, Beam. Craycraft isn’t a run threat and isn’t an accurate passer. They have 2 LBs keying on McLaughlin. Poor first half for YSU but still all tied up.

I stopped at that Tent and everyone there said they had never heard of Any Given Saturday. I moved to the top row right behind you at row A/B. I'm by myself and in my mid 20's. Give me a wave if you see this before the end of the game.

AGS isn’t known by the typical YSU fan. Much of the fan base is elderly and the few who are on the cheerleader board of YSU are eaten up with the loss of prestige of days gone by, failing to see the AD failure that cost the program dearly. Despite being the closest team to YSU, there are probably very few fans at the game. The days of traveling well are long gone too.

I am thrilled with the late score, but I still have concerns if Craycraft is the guy in the 2nd half. Crenshaw with his feet is another threat INSU needs to factor in. In my eyes he gives us the best chance to win. Without him on the field, they can just load up the box to stop McGlaughlin (sp).

Trust me, I'll be happy to say I am wrong if Craycraft leads us to victory.

The 3rd down and 15+ run by 20 lead to that td before half. He is solid. Without that it could be 17-7 now. Instead 14-14

Correct,

In addition to YSU losing their starting QB, both starting OTs are not playing today.

YSU FG.

Guins lead 17-14

Indy holds on 4th and less than 1. What a Dumbazz call by YSU.

The Yo Show
October 23rd, 2021, 02:25 PM
We had horrible play calling 1st and goal at the 2 as well

Sycamore62
October 23rd, 2021, 02:26 PM
That was a really dumb play with the quality of your actual running backs

Paladin1aa
October 23rd, 2021, 02:31 PM
Less than 1 and you line up the QB deeep in shotgun removing a sneak and to add to the Dumbazz play , your best RB isn’t in the game. You line up a 310 DL deep in the backfield who WAS a h.s. FB and slow and he gets stuffed. Dumb !

Indy scores on a cakewalk run for a TD. Indy 21-17

4th qtr

I agree paladin. I would have gone under center and run QB sneak

Play calling at 1st and goal was terrible too

Another Dumbazz call on 4th down. YSU throws an INT on a short play action pass !

Coaching is letting this team down in this half. D needs to get a stop.

Paladin1aa

Indy uses QB sneak on short run for a first down . Damn

Paladin1aa
October 23rd, 2021, 02:41 PM
Indy run for TD . Indy 28-17.

Indy misses a FG. YSU got lucky.

9 minutes to go. Let’s see what the brain trust dials up

Paladin1aa
October 23rd, 2021, 02:57 PM
That was rich. Drive the field and attempt to throw it out of bounds but don’t throw it high enough or far enough and get it INT. Sit that man down. Put in the 3 QB. Terrible

Paladin1aa
October 23rd, 2021, 03:07 PM
Craycraft throws his 4th INT. Game. set. Match.

Well my preseason prediction of a 2 win season still looks good ! 😂

I stand by my statements. Craycraft just threw his 4th interception. Also, the 4th and 1 call cost this team when we controlled line of scrimmage in Q3, as well as our inability to get a TD on that first drive of 2nd half. Disappointing loss.

The up's and downs of being a YSU fan is trying. By the looks of the scores today, the only constant is the Golden Buffalo's [emoji57]

After thinking about this loss... YSU has to be the worst team after a bye week. I can't think of a "W" the game after a week off. Too lazy to research it and probably no one GAF.. It's been years since a "w's" occurred after the bye week trust me on this [emoji57]

Not important. It depends on WHO you play after a bye. Tough teams will always beat a YSU because the fan base has allowed an incompetent AD to stay and screw up all the money sports with poor coach hires, contract extensions that have all been mistakes, firing a coach over local politics who had the program recruiting in the right direction and failing to fund competent assistants while wasting money on new sports. Total incompetency.

However, Indy St was one team I IDed preseason with a chance at a win. But you lose your best RB and your best QB and are forced to start backups at both OT positions, you are up against it. It may yet have been competitive if not for the extremely poor game coaching where team wasn’t even put in a position for success. Game. Set. Match.

Indy St has good coaching, not the greatest players ,but used to their ability for success. They deserved to win.

Meanwhile, they have reached my preseason prediction of a 2 win season. The rest of the way they will be decided underdogs and if best players aren’t healthy, there could be some UGLY losses.

Fire StrolloYou're correct. Sad statement made yesterday by a once proud University, team and coaching staff. Not taking anything away from Indiana State.. they played hard and fast throughout the entire game.
