Monmouth/Maine to open 2008

season at Monmouth. This according to our local sports reporter's blog!! Nice job by Monmouth!!! I realize opening day is a day or 2 away for some teams but figured this was somewhat worthy of mentioning!!

Any chance of getting Rutgers next year? I read that Rutgers is still looking for a FCS opponent next year, and Monmouth would be an exciting matchup for new jersey.

I would say no. While Rutgers probably will schedule an FCS team next season I doubt that they would schedule a team that is not full scholly. They would take too much criticism for that. And how does that help them?

Unless Monmouth averages at least 60 financial aid equivalancies, no way could Rutgers afford to schedule them. They'll want bowl credit for any FCS games they might play.
