Everyone in the conference is playing this week except for Cal Poly. Montana State and Weber State are playing a Friday night game in Ogden, but everyone else is playing Saturday. Its that time of year that one could start to see snow but most of the venues should still be dealing with rain (if that). Some good games on tap as team start to make their move. So far for the year I am at 42-13, still looking for perfection. Here are my predictions for this week. All are my opinion only.

Friday

MSU at WSU---The Bobcats have been rolling over their inferior opponents so far but now have to make the trek to Ogden on a short week. The Wildcats have struggled so far this season, but come in to this game after an off week and are playing at home. Game on ESPNU...MSU 21, WSU 17.

Saturday

UI at EWU---The Vandals have looked impressive against their conference opponents and they make the short trip to face one of their rivals. The Eagles have looked impressive over everyone so far and, while the defense may be suspect, the offense is still rolling...EWU 42, UI 21.

ISU at PSU---Have the Bengals turned the corner after last week's win or are they just good at home and still bad on the road? The Vikings looked lost early last week, but they came back to be in a position to win it. Two unknowns really, who will show up...PSU 35, ISU 31.

UNC at UCD---The Bears have mastered the Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde play so far but last week's loss could be expected. The Aggies were rolling along even without their star quarterback, then they took a sharp detour last week. It's the Bears week to win, but the Aggies need it...UCD 29, UNC 21.

SAC at UM---Everyone else falling around them and the Hornets have just been winning in the conference so far. The Grizzlies got dinged up bad two weeks ago and they were fortunate to have an easy opponent last week. One of the better matchups in the conference...UM 31, SAC 24.

SUU at NAU---The Thunderbirds have been reeling from this season, their swan song in the conference. They say goodbye to one of their rivals this weekend. The Lumberjacks had an extra week to prepare for this and really need a win to get back to business...NAU 31, SUU 10.

Friday

Montana St. 24-27 Weber — Weber's at home, they need it more, and MSU's on a short week

Saturday

Idalol 24-49 EWU — Idaho's won 2 straight over Eastern, but neither of those came on the accursed blood turf

Idaho St. 24-35 Portland St. — The final meeting between these two as "rivals"

NoCo 10-38 Davis — The McCaffreys can't score points, so Hunter Rodrigues is free to suck for another week

Suutah 24-31 NAU — Demario Warren rapidly approaching hot seat status…

Sac State 17-24 Montana — Don't expect a lot of points here

MSU 31 at WSU 28---MSU finally gets tested since Wyoming. MSU has been able to play 2's and 3's in several games and hopfully developed more depth. BBQ needs to win out to guarentee a playoff spot.

Saturday

UI 20 at EWU 35---EWU should win this being at home. But Idaho is capable of making it interesting

ISU 17 at PSU 28--- Idaho State had their best game of the season last weekend and will not be fully defeated. Portland State is at home.

UNC 16 at UCD 32--- Davis needs to win after the embarssing loss it Idaho State. UNC has been terrible except for the NAU game.

SAC 17 at UM 25---Sac has a long history of losing in Missoula. (I think they may only have 1 W in Missoula) UM may have some question marks after that first half struggle against Dixie. Sac is capable of making this interesting, especially if UM struggles for a half again.

SUU 20 at NAU 35-- NAU had a bye week to prepare and just beat ISU scoring 48.

It's actually 0, and only 2 wins over the Griz period (2011 & 2019).

Their record against Griz is worse than I thought. Poor Hornets.

Montana State: Going with the Bobcats in what will be a physical game. However if Webers starting QB is back in action I could see the Wildcats having the potential to win.

EWU: Eagles seem unstoppable on offense.

Idaho State: Think the Bengals will ride the momentum of their big win over UC-Davis

UCD: Aggies will be angry, just have to dodge UNCs coaches chucking clipboards.

Montana: Griz are home and have had a week to hopefully break in the new QB, still this game does scare me. Going to have to rely on our defense and hope they're back at 100%.

NAU : Both teams seem pretty terrible, NAU got a terrible Arizona which still is a big win for the Big Sky so I'll give them the nod, could go either way honestly.

Some good games this week:

Weber State will be MSU- I think Weber has more to lose and they are in Ogden.
Eastern beats Idaho-In this game EWU's defense if better then Idahos Offense. This game is always close but I think EWU wins by 3 td"S
UC Davis beats UNC- Davis will shake of last weeks loss and win handily.
Portland State beats Idaho State- both teams had good outings last week. Home field advantage wins.
Montana will beat Sac State
NAU bears Southern Utah- Neither team has shown much this year. SUU has shown the least.

MSU 24 @ Weber 21 - MSU is coming off a short week, but the starters only played about a half last Saturday to somewhat mitigate that disadvantage. In fact, the 2's and 3s have received significant playing time which should help for the occasions when a starter needs to be spelled. Weber will come out with their hair on fire, as this is a must win. Having just checked, there are still a TON of unsold tickets, so crowd noise shouldn't be much of an issue for the Bobcat offense. I think the offense does just enough, while holding the Grills to about their season average at home, 19 (both quality opponents, one better than MSU, one probably not).

Idaho 24 @ EWU 42 - It's going to take a complete team to take down EWU, especially at home. Idaho ain't it.
Sac State 17 @ UM 27 - With a second week working with the first team, Brown won't need the entire first half to get rolling (maybe just a drive). The Griz keep their undefeated home record vs the Hornets intact.
SUU 17 @ NAU 28 - The T'birds continue to get a rude escort out of the conference. Perhaps when NoCo comes to town, they'll get one last parting gift from the Big Sky.
ISU-o 20 @ PSU 31 - No idea where last week's game came from, but the Bengals have been playing well at home since the opener against UND. Unfortunately, this is a road game and they have been atrocious away from the quonset.
NoCo 17 @ UC-Davis 35 - What better way to rebound from stubbing your toe the previous week than a home game against the Bears? Oh, playing Cal Poly? Ok, fair point. But the Bears are a pretty tasty cupcake also.

Didn't notice til I posted and saw the bolding, but it appears (to me at least), that the only chance of an away team winning this weekend is the Bobcats. We must prevent this clean sweep!

I think Sac will make it interesting today. All others pretty much pro forma as all are calling.

Nau put up 59 points against SUU for the win. A few notes from a fan. Freshman qb RJ Martinez, and freshman rb Kevin daniels are really starting to shine on offense. I’m excited that we get them for the next four years. There were a ton of injuries in this game on both sides (at least ten. I lost count). The NAU defense started looking real thin in the second half after a slew of injuries. We’ll see what the injuries report looks like this week. Go Jacks!!!

Sac State's win kept me from going perfect this week. 5-1 again. 47-14 overall.
