MOBILE, Ala. - It took nearly half an hour to get going in Mobile. A lighting malfunction, shortly after the coin toss, forced both teams into the locker rooms just as they were getting ready for kickoff.South Alabama got on the board first with 1-yard rush from Kareem Walker with 2:11 left in the opening frame. But the second quarter belonged to the Braves. With 6:50 remaining before halftime, a punt by Robens Beauplans was muffed. Jason Longcor recovered the fumble in the end zone to give Alcorn State its' first touchdown of the game. Longcor's touchdown knotted the score at 7. The Braves forced another turnover moments later when Keyron Kinsler and Malcolm Magee popped the ball loose from Jaguars quarterback Jake Bentley. Solomon Wise came up with the recovery and the Braves began the drive at their own 38-yard line.Felix Harper didn't waste any time getting the ball downfield and connected with C.J. Bolar and LeCharles Pringle for two huge receptions to put the Braves in the red zone. Javonta Leatherwood finished the deal with a 1-yard touchdown to give the Braves their first lead of the game, 14-7.The second half, however, belonged to the Jaguars. South Alabama came out of the locker room clicking on all cylinders and scored three quick touchdowns in the third quarter, jumping out to a 28-14 lead. Alcorn State rallied and pulled within 7 late in the fourth quarter but a late interception in the red zone sealed the win for South Alabama, 28-21.
