I don't think people on here realize how bad Northern Illinois is. A once proud MAC program (like Ohio) has fallen on real hard times. Maine has a legit shot. They'll be about 3k people at this game....

NIU just beat Georgia Tech and were within a touchdown of currently undefeated Wyoming. Sure, they got curb-stomped by Michigan but so has everybody else on UM's schedule so far. The Huskies may not be the cream of the MAC anymore but it's not like they're UConn either.

Agree 100%, must be a league leader in penalties and if we don't fumble at the goal line we could have sent the Blue Hens back with a loss!!!

Our backup QB is serviceable but not to the level of Fagnano, don't see us doing too much till he returns. But we did block two PAT's and returned them both for scores, only 3rd time in FCS history that has happenedxnodx

I gotcha! They're not "Bottom 10" material but they're in contention for bottom 25 or so coming off a rough 2019 and not playing in 2020. Georgia Tech is in a tough transition period (I get their game against Clemson) so I don't read too much into that game. Ultimately, NIU is your run of the mill below average MAC team which is certainly capable of losing to what I consider to be a solid FCS opponent in Maine.

Nice road win for you guys. Got it with Davis Cheek throwing it all over the field like he always does. I think people overlook Elon at times because he was hurt in the spring, so Tribe did a good job to beat him.

As for Spiders, sure could have had us all on scalp alert if we had not given up the punt return for TD, but having lost starting QB on third play of game Spiders hung in tough. Sounds like he could be out a few games, but certain news Monday.

Any CAA win on the road is a good win. No team is a walk over, especially at home. And Davis Cheek is an excellent FCS QB.
