I'm on the fence with the SFA game, I was going to pick SFA if they were at full strength, but too many out and who knows how many will travel.

It might go like it did against Memphis, hang for 3 quarters and then tank with the lack of depth.

SFA PLAYERS OUT OR QUESTIONABLE FOR TECH
RB:#21 DA’LEON WARD 5-10; 189 (SR.) Left Tarleton game injured (Starter)
DE:#3 BJ THOMPSON 6-6; 220 (JR.) Left Tarleton game injured (Starter)
DE:#42 TERRANCE WAIR 6-1; 235 (SO.)
LB:#6 BREVIN RANDLE 5-11; 230 (SO.) Left Tarleton game injured (Starter)
LB:#25 DAYDAY COLEMAN 6-0; 225 (JR.)
S:#0 MYLES HEARD 5-9; 195 (SO.) Targeting Foul out for first half at Tech (Starter)

Just listened to Coach Carthel's radio show and he said the players should be ready to go against Texas Tech, a few bumps and bruises from the Tarleton game, but nothing major.

So should have the starters back, with the exception of the players who have too sit out the first half for targeting.

I've got you guys as my upset special to take an FBS scalp. That Houston win by Texas Tech will have them feeling too good about themselves. They are looking past you and at FIU and the Longhhorns coming up.

Not impossible, but SFA hasn't beaten a FBS team in over 20 years. I will say that SFA had a good showings against UTEP, UTSA, and Memphis (until the 4th) in 2020 so they should not be intimidated going into Lubbock.

Carthel said this is just go up there and do your thing and have fun, no pressure about this game, and when players feel no pressure they play better.

If the Jacks play like they did at Memphis with a full roster (only had 48 players travels to Memphis in 2020 mostly freshmen) yes they have a chance.

Lamar is the worst team, in scholarship football. Possibly in all of the ncaa, naia, d2, d3, intramural….

You guys almost pulled it off. Heartbreaker, but Carthel has them on the right track. The BOTPW may actually be competitive this year!!

It was competitive in 2019 the last time they played. SHSU had to come from behind in the 4th quarter to win it, if you remember.

The player that has made the most growth is QB Trae Self, talk about night and day with his game.

This his 3rd year in OC Matt Storm's system and the maturity is amazing.

Self had such happy feet when he first started in 2019 forcing so much, trying to do too much, throwing 19 INTs in the last two season, and now he just sits back there in the pocket and manages the team down the field like a QB is suppose too. (0 INTS in the first two game).

Playing 5 FBS teams in the last 12 games really helps manage game speed.

18-26; YDS:235; TD:1; INT:0 (Tarleton State Game)
38-58; YDS:343; TD:1; INT:0 (Texas Tech Game)

Huh? They’re SFA man, they’re still **** at football. HBU played Tech tougher than SFA did just last year, and Tech is WORSE this year. Not sure about you, but I wouldn’t have been too concerned about beating HBU had we played them last year.

2019 was SFA’s chance to end the streak against the worst Kats team since Whitten was on the sidelines. Carthel will be coaching FOR Tech the next time they beat us.
