Sports Information Directors from each school and media members who cover FCS are eligible to vote and make up the bulk of the voters.

Why is SCSU so low? They were picked to win the MEAC over HU...

Hampton's success the past few years has made them a team on nearly everyone's radar. That's what happens when you go to the playoffs for a few years. The game between South Carolina State and Hampton (which I plan on attending this season) should be one of the top FCS games of the year. I look forward to my first visit to Hampton.

In my poll I ranked SCSU a tad bit higher than HU because they beat HU last season and the MEAC coaches/SI Directors picked SCSU to win the MEAC. No doubt though that it will will be a fantastic game. xnodx

I was given tix to that game BTW, but I don't think I'm going...xrotatehx

Can't argue with your logic. If you end up going to the game after all, let me know.

No, Ricky Santos is NOT a TSN voter.

Dunno...and unfortunately for UNH they face JMU their first game of the season (who JMU absolutely throttled last season). We'll find out very quickly whether or not UNH is a team to reckon with without Ball...xnodx

That will definitely be a must-see game for a lot of FCS fans. One of many that will determine how the big picture plays out.

Wasn't the esteemed Travis. Or David Ball either. This wasn't a homer vote, believe it, or not.

We JMU Dukes fans intend to give Mr. Santos a very, very warm welcome on his first and only trip to Harrisonburg in his illustrious UNH career. xnodx xsmiley_wix

Despite JMU's ownership of UNH, it's probably the best time for UNH to play them. Hopefully, they'll still be getting used to a new QB. We have to beat you once, right?

Certainly. And hopefully JMU's defense can add another 21 points to help out Lander's in his new role. xnodx xconfusedx :o

Like I said earlier, the UNH first-place vote wasn't from anyone even close to the state of New Hampshire.

Ownership?

Since when does one game signify an ownership?

Its actually been a pretty even series since 1980 with JMU with a slight 6-5 edge. Since 2000 JMU has a 3-2 edge...

Rankingswise (is that a word?), it looks like the Gateway is picking up right where it left off last year. Factor in next year's GFC members (NDSU and SDSU), and there would be 6 Gateway members ranked in the top 20.

But even 4 in the top 12 is pretty cool! Really looking forward to a fantastic knockdown fight for the Gateway crown this season. It's going to be great football every Saturday...love it! xthumbsupx

Goodness, what a gaff. I'd confused JMU and W&M. It was in fact W&M who ended the perfect season in '05. That said, the way JMU owned us last year is enough to be scared.
