The linebackers joined in with the defensive backs in making pass interceptions during Monday morning's football practice for the McNeese State Cowboys.

Senior linebacker David Turnage produced one of four interceptions, the others going to backs John Vigers, Tyson Sibley and LaDarius Key.

It was the second practice in a row that Sibley had made a steal. On Sunday the defense had made five interceptions.

"That was a positive," Cowboy head coach Matt Viator said about the defensive play on Monday.

"Offensively, I thought that our running backs had a pretty good day. We're not really tackling but the running backs had a few shots in there that could have gone."

Sophomore tailback letterman Elrick Jones had a couple of runs that he could have broken, the second straight practice in which a tailback has made two potential touchdown runs. Toddrick Pendland had two on Sunday.

Others getting in work at tailback during August camp are lettermen Neely Hubbard and Kris Bush and freshman Isiah Ryan. Jamie Leonard, who started eight games last year, is presently out with an injury.
