For whatever that is worth since they were picked to finish 5th last year and Princeton was picked to finish 6th.

Well, we have to make the trip up to the Yale Bowl again this year; so this certainly looks like one of our major tests--October 13. After last year's OT loss, this could be another donnybrook.xnodx

Hmm... Columbia moving up in the world... very nice.. as long as they don't beat us...

Yale is not a surprise... I remember being the only one picking them to win the Ivy.. my bet being if their QB develops, they will win it...

This year, I'll give my darkhorse to Penn..

The article in today's New York Times touched on the Ivy League's avoidance of the FCS playoffs. Most of the coaches quoted favored joining the playoffs, but Tim Murphy (Harvard) likes things just the way they are. "For me, the Harvard-Yale game is the best way to end a season." I wonder how the six coaches not on the Harvard or Yale payroll feel about that?

Carmen Cozza, the 77-year old former coach at Yale (1965-1996) said "How about a postseason game against the Patriot League or some other good academic league?" So the solution is for another league to sit out the playoffs? Wonder what the chances of that happening are?

Thanks for the heads-up carney. I'll be talking about this on the blog tomorrow. Glad to see that the coaches are becoming more vocal on this issue. Who knows - maybe it will even happen.

Having several FCS schools that I enjoy, the present Ivy situation does not bother me...

Amen to that. In the words of my philosopher idol, Yogi Berra (I'm paraphrasing), "If they don't want to come, let 'em."

Yale better watch out for Penn this year, I think that Penn has what it takes to win the Ivy League.

article in New Haven Register sites AGS poll:

http://www.nhregister.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=18670771&BRD=1281&PAG=461&dept_id=7592&rfi=6

"The Bulldogs are 18th in the College Sporting News preseason top 25 and 25th in the Any Given Saturday top 25, the only team from the Ivy to earn such recognition."

Thanks. Now that Yale football season is quickly approaching, I'll be back posting on a regular basis again. I tend to disappear in the off season.

Looking forward to another banner year for the Elis!
