JMU lost their top receiver in a non-contact drill yesterday. Out for 6-8 weeks.

certainly a huge loss for us....good thing is we plug in a player who was a starter last year. Also have NCSU transfer Chris Hawkins with plenty of young talent in the wings.

Get well DD, we need you healthy

I think you guys will be fine. Seems like it wasnt your passing game that won you guys the Championship last year.

True, but there were a lot of huge plays by our receivers. DD had a huge catch in the win over Maine that won us the game, and maybe had a bigger catch in the W&M semi game, that finally put the momentum back on our side. But I agree, it's a huge blow, but it will also be an opportunity for others to step up. It's good that we have the not-so-stellar OOC first, where they can prove themselves.

PS: There have been inside sources that project that Boxley will only need 3-4 weeks to recover, putting him at about the Hofstra game, where we will definitely need everybody.

It's just tough to lose a guy this close to the season. Inevitably JMU will lose a few more players once the season starts. If they lose another receiver than that position becomes really thin. Without the deep threats JMU's run game will have a much tougher time as the defense will be able to crowd the line.

The Dukes won't get much sympathy from Hen fans... UD has already lost two WRs that combined for 133 total catches last year.
