RICHMOND, Va. – Spiders senior guard Jacob Gilyard was named the Virginia Defensive Player of the Year by the Virginia Association of Sports Information Directors (VaSID) on Friday. Gilyard, who led the nation in steals, received more than twice as many votes as any other Division I player in the state.
