Nicholls is running UIW out of Benson Stadium

With over 8 minutes left to play No. 14 Nicholls is up 68-37 against No. 15 UIW. It hasn't been close and Nicholls has looked unstoppable with Scott looking like one of the best players in the FCS with 4 TDs. Ward's played well and UIW was keeping up early, but it's clear Nicholls is just a very good team this year.

This should really solidify SHSU's inclusion as a top 5 team and a team with an outside shot a national title, especially under this year's circumstances. This same Nicholls team who is grabbing an impressive win and is still very much alive in the playoff hunt look awful against SHSU two weeks ago. They couldn't run the ball at all. Scott looked bad, struggled passing the ball and was getting hit all game. Sam's offense that was anemic and lackluster last year hung 71 on them, showing their clear improvement on the offense in year three under Carty. Based on this result today along with the dominance of the Kats thus far I think SHSU should be in line for a top 4 seed in the playoffs and multiple home games. It's clear this is the best team KC has had in Texas...

Really it was just two big plays that we gave up that knocked us out of it. The 75-yard TD right off the bat, then the FG attempt that was blocked and returned like 70 yards for a TD right at the end of the first half. Minus those two, it's a tie game. Still though, we gave up 34 points to a team that couldn't find the end zone against Missouri State, so....yeah.

Just like we would be in spring practices. They are just getting thrown to the wolves in games with other teams rather being sorted out in spring scrimmages. This was the basis of my statement.
