Posting here since it's the only game today.. A couple notes.
From USD: USD left guard Mason Scheidegger (https://goyotes.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=10420) did not compete in week one, but coach Bob Nielson (https://goyotes.com/coaches.aspx?rc=1049) said Tuesday that he has been cleared to play in this one.

USD didn't run the ball well against ISU, but their starting left guard is back, and he's a big boy at 6'5 330 compared to the backup Trevor Shohoney 6'5 290 (who must have played last week vs ISU).
Paired with a big starting center at 6'7 325 and a starting right guard at 6'5 330, it will be interesting to see if USD can get their running game going vs UND's smaller than avg D-line (which has been good against the run).

I'm worried about the size difference along the line when it comes to the USD running game, and ya gotta think they get it going.

Fun fact, UND has a 13 game winning streak vs South Dakota in Grand Forks - the last time UND lost to USD at home was in 1985! (knock on wood)

This game is going to be a close one, and UND was extremely lucky to squeak out the last two at home. Look to see USD get it's running game going again... If they can rush the ball, USD will have a great chance in this one. Also, liking UND football is similar to liking the Vikings... getting the fans hopes up only to crush them is to be expected.

We played like zombies against an in-state rival and won. It was a sloppy slumber but we'll take it and move on. Morgan Ellison is a different level beast.

Throughout the game but most of all in the first half, then Mcneese state defense was really landing some big hits on your receivers

Your defense was gassed late in the game and Mcneese was just rumbling up big chunks of yards on simple running plays but they turned the ball over like the last three Possessions as they were getting ready to score

It was getting a little bit chippy towards the end and it looked like a brawl was gonna break out, but cooler heads prevailed

Also a pretty nice crowd on hand and quite the contrast to the Delaware game where no fans were allowed in, Only parents

We did get gassed late. We're banged up on the defensive line and trying to scrape enough healthy bodies together for a semblance of a rotation. A couple are playing hurt just trying to gut it out. We'll look a lot different in the fall when everybody gets back healthy. Southeastern/McNeese games are usually always chippy. Each team has kids who played with/against each other in high school and it's developed into a pretty good rivalry over the years. Not to mention our head coach was the OC for McNeese's head coach at UTSA. But there wasn't the same energy as usual. I knew we would have a tough time after a physical, emotional game last week but we battled through it and made plays when he had to. McNeese has good players on defense, a gamer at QB and a lot of pride. They laid their egg last week and we knew they would be a handful. Wasn't pretty but I'll take a five point win over those guys any day.

Having not watched McNeese/SLU, it sounds like them guys are playing inspired in spite of all the offseason hurdles. If the conference becomes a log jam towards the end, it might just be the team that doesn't get surprised by the Cowboys that takes the Conference.
