ABrad Gordon, University of Central Arkansas offensive lineman, had the short answer to what Nathan Brown has that makes him a great leader as UCA quarterback.

"What doesn't he have?" Gordon said. "I've never been around Nathan when he has down anything bad. He's a great person, he's a tremendous field general. He's always composed. Some of the things he does, you don't know how he does it. Who would want to follow a person who does what Nathan does?"

Brown, the junior from Russellville who has already established himself as one of the great quarterbacks in UCA history, concedes he's not perfect and has some things to work on.

Running backs...

AA double-edged running attack by the University of Central Arkansas acquired another sharp prong in the spring.

Leonard Ceasar, a 5-foot-9, 174-pound sophomore who carried the ball 15 times for a net of 40 yards last season, emerged a more of a force in the offense, especially with his speed to get to the corner. He joins senior Ross Brown (5-9, 184) and fellow sophomore Brent Grimes (5-9, 174) to form another deep and complementary situation in the UCA backfield.

Brown broke out from the shadows of a reserve role to rush for 823 yards last season, averaging 5.1 yards a carry. Grimes, added another 341 and another 186 in receiving yards.
