Bearkats started practice last Sunday and all seems to be going well. :)
Whitten happy with the start of Bearkat fall practices

A slow stroll across the field of Bowers Stadium on Monday evening had the feel of a typical fall afternoon of Sam Houston State football.
Quarterbacks were running drills in the middle of the field with the receivers, offensive linemen were working out in the end zone nearest to the field house and the defense was on the opposite side of the field. There was even the typical cool breeze that greets players about the same time Southland Conference season rolls around,
The only difference was, it was the first day of practice - one usually held under brutal August heat, especially on the Astroturf surface. But on the first day of practice for the 2005 season, Mother Nature gave the Bearkats a break. After a 30-minute lightning delay, SHSU had a pleasant evening to get the season started.
