That is meaning a position that is not a kicker or punter. So it could be a gunner, wing, etc of someone on kick or punt coverage or punt and kick return units.

The PL's reputation does not do themselves favors with votes like this.

The Good: First, congratulations to Michael Dereus (WR, Georgetown). He is the first, repeat, FIRST 1st team all-PL selection on offense that Georgetown has ever recruited in the 19 year Patriot League era. Sadly, that's a story in itself. The only other 1st team selection was Luke McArdle (2003) who entered from the MAAC era.

The Bad: On the contrary, giving Duval Paul (DE, Georgetown) a 1st team selection is admirable but he was 10th in tackles on this team.

The Ugly: Fresh off his pre-season 1st team nod at fullback (a position he never played), Georgetown's Isaac Schley was again chosen as your 2nd (edited) team all-Patriot FB/HB. He rushed 0 times for 0 yards. Schley caught nine passes in 11 games for an average of 7 yards per game.

I know what it means. It also means backup speed player that we don't mind getting injured.

2nd Team, but yeah, it looks like just about everyone mailed it in this year.

Quibble...but Dobbs should have been 1st team LB...led the best team in the league on defense.

Back for 3 more years :)

Greenhagen and Cunningham are two of the best LB's in FCS. I think Greenhagen has a shot at 1st team AA. Woetzel also had a big stat year for Lehigh. Dobbs too bad a really good year but as a freshman I don't think there was anyway he's getting in over those 3.

Dobbs was one of the best 4 LBs in the PL this year by a wide margin....ridiculous to say otherwise.

Agree that Dobbs was screwed out of first team. He was the best LB on the best defensive unit in the PL.

Meanwhile, Fordham gave up the most points, rushing yards, and rushing touchdowns during PL contests, and they have two kids make first team All-League?

Doesn’t add up.

Fordham having two excellent LB's and their defense being terrible can absolutely be mutually exclusive. HC having the best D in the PL is like getting props for being the tallest midget. The offenses in the league were atrocious. Someone has to be the best. HC struggled to stop the competent offenses they faced. Monmouth will be a real good test. With that said Dobbs definitely has a case for first team. I do think his freshman status and the Bronx duo's national reputation was the difference.

Greenhagen absolutely should be 1st team. Cunningham you could quibble because his stats aren't as good.
Greenhagen- 77 solo, 40 assisted, 117 total 16.5 TFL, 3.5 sacks, 1 FF
Cunningham - 42 solo, 28 assisted, 70 total, 8.5 TFL, 1 sack, 2 FF
Woetzel - 79 solo, 39 assisted, 118 total, 17.5 TFL, 12 sacks, 2 INT, 1 FF
Page - 42 solo, 16 assisted, 58 total, 12.5 TFL, 9 sacks, 2 FF

Dobbs - 66 solo, 16 assisted, 82 total, 11 TFL, 6 sacks, 3 INT, 3 FF

yep - those two are amazing and deserve it. We got hammered by injuries and poor play mostly from the secondary. It was just atrocious but shouldn't be held against those two imo.

Should have been PL Defensive Player of the Year.
