Apparently GreatAppSt's annual AGS countdown to the start of the season is not based off of the FCS countdown, but the Appalachian State countdown to their first game...

Appalachian State does not begin their season until Saturday, September 1st against Michigan, two days after quite a few teams including Northern Iowa, William & Mary, Delaware, Sam Houston State and Eastern Illinois.

This is throwing off my countdown, now that we're under 100 days as it relates to the real kickoff of the FCS season -- shouldn't GreatAppSt start it as it relates to FCS instead of AppSt? Most of us have enough math problems (see the recent edition of Down South and all of our collective problems in crunching stats).

I know there are more pressing issues in FCS circles, but this is just food for thought...xreadx

JMU starts on a saturday, so I don't really care ;) On thursday, I'll be watching the Delaware-W&M game, on saturday, I'll be listening to the JMU-UNC game.

TT, he has to start somewhere, doesn't he? Besides, what happens if/when TV steps in and wants an opener played a few days early?

I have my own countdown in my sig and is on BISONsport.net and BISONville. People can have their own countdowns IMHO

A lot of people have their own countdowns to their home openers. I don't see any problems with different countdowns.

GAS's countdown uses 100 jersey numbers from ASU players, so he has to use ASU's starting date

I was just being sarcastic about this all...

GAS is the 'official - unofficial' countdowner of AGS! :)
