View Full Version : Week 10 Attendance

I’m starting this thread early out of sheer disgust.

Only 1,745 showed up for a televised Friday night game at Cornell to witness Princeton’s surprisingly close 21-7 win.

Guess that Cornell dining hall was serving surf & turf last night.

Or gamers were getting ready for BlizzCon 2019.

Or the Friday night Sigma Nu kegger was featuring Heineken and Stella Artois.

20,112 at Harvard for the 9-6 Dartmouth win. Biggest non-Yale home crowd in a long time.

4545 in Goodman to see Holy Cross v. Lehigh. Unfortunately, the Lehigh student body was on Fall Semester break. Probably would have been about 6500-7000 if students on campus, but still not great considering the importance of the game.

I had the chance to attend this one. Crowd sure seemed bigger than that.

A beautiful day and one of the best FCS environments. One of my favorite FCS stadiums and the Marching 97 terrific, one of the better traditions at the FCS level.

Yeah, about the only negative about Goodman Stadium is the seats are needlessly set far back from the field. Otherwise, the stadium is excellent for DI-AA/FCS football.

A disappointing 5,667 at Yale Bowl to see Yale blow out Columbia 45-10 on a perfect football weather afternoon.

I think that's the biggest non H v. Y crowd in a while. If an Ivy game besides The Game has gotten more than 20K in recent years, I'm not recalling it.

Dartmouth at Harvard was/is nearly always one of the better attended Ivy games historically after The Game.

The last time Harvard drew over 20K for a non-Yale home game of any kind was in 2008 against Holy Cross. I believe it was a night game. Harvard installed lights a year or two before that.

That was definitely true back in my day. Brown and Princeton also attracted pretty big crowds to Harvard Stadium, but not as many as Dartmouth. We used to host that series 3 years out of every 4.

Yale-Princeton in 2006 at New Haven drew 43,000. Unfortunately I think half of that crowd is six feet under right now.

Yale was 5-0. Princeton was 4-1. Yale blew a big half time lead. Ended up co-champs with Princeton.

Holy cow, I didn’t know the series was going on when Charles Chauncy was the president?

cx, I’ve reached the age of 65. With that achievement comes the right to use the phrase that you highlighted.

One of the games that eventually cost Siedlecki his job.

15,617 official attendance in Bozeman for the game against Southern Utah. I think some of those were out hunting rather than in the stadium.

7895 for UNH's comeback win over #11 Villanova Tailgate was busy and stadium seemed pretty full on the home side. Still struggling with attendance this year.

9,295 in the Hole for McNeese vs Northwestern State. No LSU game, perfect football weather and still a crappy crowd. A lot of whining and bitching about the 4:00 afternoon game times but every damn game in the SLC started at 4:00 or earlier this week. Fickle ****ing fans.
