I realize there's already a thread for this game (https://www.anygivensaturday.com/showthread.php?232085-Western-Illinois-at-North-Alabama-Thoughts), but it's "game week", and also the thread didn't have a poll. Feel free to discuss (if there is more to discuss beyond the previous thread) and vote in the poll.

I picked UNA.

IMO, WIU will really struggle this year.

So this game will now have a thread. A game week thread and a game thread

Just silly to have 3 threads for any game.

But it's what the board voted for.

Was there 2 already? I was aware of the one, but it didn't have a poll and I thought that's what we were doing this year. I've not I'll refrain from doing any more.

The inevitable game thread will make three.

But this was out to a discussion and if exactly what the those involved wanted.

I was apparently the only one to fine the idea of a game thread game week thread and them a general game thread over the top and redundant. Apparently thinking 3 (or even 2 threads) threads on the same game is silly is a me issue. I think we are at 3 or 4 for the butler NDSU game and haven't gotten to the game week, game, or post game thread that will surely carry

I'll take WIU. If WIU loses I see a 8th or worse finish for them.

Oh, see I figured that this would just be the actual game thread. Didn't think anyone would be posting anything for this one on game day or whatever, or did you mean just the general "Scores" thread that gets put up every weekend that covers pretty much all the games?

But the discussion was that there could)should be a separate thread for the week and then the game. I don't get why but that's what was decided.

Any chance the two threads could be merged?

I missed this vote, but I agree with you; it does seem redundant.

I picked WIU by 14+ .. UNA seems to be on downswing and roster was hit some from last year as well.

agree with clenz ... just stay with same thread for poll/pregame and then in game and post game comments if there is any

p.s. I like they way this poll was done with the options at < or > +/- 14 for each team. I think all game polls should be this way and with those margins. Anything under 14 versus over 14 is perfect cutoff ... asking if close game or not. Picking winners is easy 75% of the time. If heavily favored, add another tier at 28 points if you must ... multiples of 2 and 4 TDs seems logical to me and would make the polls/picks more interesting predicting margins like that.

I mean...that was my plan. This is the week/poll thread and the game thread. I wasn't going to post another thread about this game.
So, poll's closed now, kickoff is in ~2 1/2 hours. Feel free to use this as the game thread for discussing stuff.

I do have a comment on the weather though...I'm getting a little tired of seeing articles talking about how hot and humid it's going to be in Florence (I've seen more than a few mentions of it).
Example: http://www.chicagonow.com/prairie-state-pigskin/2019/08/wiu-opens-season-in-heat-and-humidity-of-the-deep-south/

(http://www.chicagonow.com/prairie-state-pigskin/2019/08/wiu-opens-season-in-heat-and-humidity-of-the-deep-south/)Did nobody actually look at the forecast?

Kickoff temperature in Florence, AL is supposed to be 79 degrees, 52% humidity, and a dew point of 61 (with a 0% chance of rain).
To compare, same time here in Macomb...77 degrees, 69% humidity, and a dew point of 67 (with a 60% chance of thunderstorms).

So...it'll feel nicer in Florence than it will in Macomb during the game. And other than the last few days (which have been really nice here), the guys have been practicing in weather quite a bit worse than what they'll have in AL tonight.

I don't know how the game is going to go, but I don't think weather is going to be a problem.

It's absolutely glorious here today.

This is the lowest humidity here in months.

It's literally one of the best days of the year. I've had the windows open all day. I hope it stays.

Weather will be an absolute non-factor.
