ISUr is tied at half with NIU ... 3-3. Obviously 2 strong defenses. But our offense could be doing much more in pass game. Davis 2019 looks like Davis in 2nd half of 2018 ... missing open receivers all over the place or we would be winning this game. They have stopped our run game completely so far. Davis doing nothing to keep their front 7 honest in run game.

Their transfer QB is ok ... new QB, new system, new coaches. They look out of sync like we do ...except we have same QB, same system, same coaches. Their defense is for real inside .. but if we just start hitting open receivers, things could open up some.
Rain isn't helping matters for either offense.

Defense proved themselves today. Offense was awful, though give their run defense a lot of credit ... very very stout. But our QB Davis was awful in pass game`... missed way too many open receivers the first 3 qtrs. Even half his completions were off target. Hoped we would see a different QB this year with full offseason .... right now, he's the same guy we saw 2nd half of last season .. tightens up against good defenses and his accuracy is out the window, then playbook shrinks as Spack goes conservative.

If this keeps up again this year like last, we should give one of our young QBs a chance .. this team has serious potential if we could just complete some simple passes. To be fair, it's not all on QB, our OL was overmatched too .. Robinson had zero room all day .. 13 carries for 16 yards.

We had our chances and could have won a game like this if our QB just completes some open passes. First 10 drives, we got 88 total yards. The last 4 drives netted 180 total yards because Davis finally hit some open receivers.

Hope he gets his sh-t together. He talks a good game and sounds so confident ... but it's getting harder to stomach.

UNM head coach Bob Davie was taken to the hospital following the game with an apparent "serious medical condition". (wording from the UNM release) I've seen it mentioned as a possible heart attack.

More recent reports say he is doing well and recovering. No details yet this evening.

Central Arkansas looks like a top 10 team. I’ve got the Portland State /Arkansas game on right now. PSU looking good against a sad Arkansas team.

Colgate is out of my rankings after two embarrassing losses. JMU and Towson May find a place in near the bottom of the rankings but neither belong in the top 25.

Expected the receivers and Sneed to be real good and expected some good things from the secondary as well but they were all better than I expected right out of the gate...not just them but all position groups. RB's didn't have a great day but USD was doing a damn good job on the D Line plugging things up.

Holy **** that Kody Case is good! Looks like the 2nd coming of Kooper Cupp to me at times out there...hey wait a minute...and odd exchange of the "K" in the first name and the last name with a "C"!

I'm not much for conspiracy type stuff but I think Kooper might be suiting up for USD!

BTW, the talent at WR is even a little deeper than we saw yesterday so it might get interesting if we can develop that running game.

Edit, in thinking about the way that is phrased I think I should be more clear since Dalton spread it around to 10 or more receivers. Some of the guys outside of the top 3 or 4 yesterday are pretty damn good and will probably each have some career days coming up over the next few weeks depending on how teams scheme for us and shutting some of them down etc.

I can see that; If he hadn't lumped them together with Towson, which is a preseason AGS Top 15 team -- who won on the road in a tough place to play -- I probably wouldn't have said anything. All is forgiven.
