Although this is Week 0, and there are only two FCS matchups, I thought it would be fun to see which matchup people prefer. Also this year, current AGS rank (if applicable) and conference affiliation (in parentheses) will be denoted.

Villanova (CAA) @ #16 Colgate (Patriot) - Returning Patriot League champs vs. a team that started their season last year by beating an FBS opponent.

Youngstown State (MVFC) @ #38 Samford (SoCon) - The Penguins look to avoid losing their opener two years in a row to a team called the "Bulldogs", while Samford looks to prove that there is definitely life after Devlin Hodges. Also, this game should provide some kindling for the debate in the "AGS Poll Results - WEEK 0 POLL - 2019 SEASON" saga.

Enjoy the season everyone!

I am a SoCon guy and hope Samford can win minus THREE NFL players gone from last year - Hodges at QB, McKnight WR and Gooden (DL) !! that's sick.. so they are gonna be down. That said, I think the Villanova Colgate is clearly a bigger game. For one, with those personell losses at Samford, I don't know how much we will know regardless the score of YSU - Samford unless it's a blowout one way or the other. Because I honestly don't think I will know much of YSU or Samford for a few weeks.

The other game - Colgate is higher ranked than all the other teams. They are trying to be the standard bearer for the Patriot League and have done a good job . Losing here would hurt the PL perception but a win is a good start for the PL.

Unranked vs top 40 (Samford). Unranked vs defending conference champ and top 20 (Colgate). I think it's obvious Colgate is the bigger game. Also, I give Colgate credit for scheduling tough.. FBS Air Force (no shame in losing that).. .then FCS William and Mary and Maine.. that will tell us a lot about PL / Colgate. Nice scheduling by 'Gate. Strong.

YSU versus Samford.

Bo's brother is back on the coaching staff and the defense will be the strength this year.

Samford without Hodges will be mediocre at best.

Villanova v Colgate for me.

I want to see if Colgate can keep the good times rolling.
