Not terrible. ACU is underrated. Also, if Nicholls wins the conference again, Rebowe is gone.

I predict it will be a complete scrum at top of Southland this year ... this will either cause some cream to rise to top or it will be a war of attrition among a bunch of pretty good teams. Reminds me of 2010 in MVFC ... on last weekend, WIU beat UNI. But if UNI had won like they were favored to do, our conference of 9 teams would have finished with UNI 7-1 first place, YSU 1-7 last place, and all 7 other teams tied for 2nd at 4-4 .. iamagine coming up with tie breaker for 7 teams !!!!!

The SLC has some potential for similar records this year, should be interesting. The closer the season gets the harder it is getting for me to predict anything.

UNH 100%. Nova....ehhhh, probably ahead of Rhode Island, but are we really that far ahead of Richmond and William & Mary? I think this is the right spot +/- 2 until we are more than a one dimensional offense, if that.

Too weird .. both finished 4-7 last year, though Morgan St was 4-4 in conf and beat NC A&T ... they probably formed alliance and voted for each other. NC A&T is vulnerable this year .. lost a lot and teams will look to pounce on them. They struggled at times last year and lost a lot from that team. Not sure how they've done on transfer front, but that conference will see some changes at top.

We will have transfers from FBS App State and other FBS programs, and a few receivers from D2 that made their conference all-conference lists.

We stocked up aplenty in this year’s transfer market.

Agreed. Luckily, we've had a recent streak of FBS transfers coming in from App State, UNC, Coastal Carolina, and South Carolina and contributing rather well for us over the past 3 seasons. This year already appears that streak will continue.

FBS transfers Rover Antoine Wilder (USC), RB JaMaine Martin (Coastal Carolina), DE Jermaine McDaniel (App State), DT Justin Nwachukwu (Northern Illinois), DB Richie Kittles (Florida Atlantic), and RB/WR/Returner Korey Banks (South Carolina) will play huge minutes for us this year. That doesn't include ECU transfer Kingsley Ifedi coming in and adding QB depth. Most importantly, all of these kids are on track to graduate either this year or in 2020 (McDaniel is on track to graduate in 2021).

Makes a lot of sense this year ... only surprise maybe is WIU at 8th. But I have no idea what they have coming back this year and hearing more chatter about USD and YSU being better this year than last ... so if true, someone has to drop. Otherwise, all makes a lot of sense. Will note this poll had ISUb finishing last a year ago ... they sure flipped the script thanks to their QB transfer Boyle.

Everything else is right in line with what I and many people have been thinking.

Noting SDSU, ISUr, ISUb all have a lot returning on both sides of ball .. UNI has fair amount coming back too. NDSU is probably the most vulnerable they've been since .. oh I dont know ... uh .. 2014, after they lost coaches and many studs from 2013 ... some of you might recall how 2014 worked out for them. ISUb also has a lot returning, though won't sneak up on teams like last year when they were picked to finish 10th in this poll. UNI has enough back to be a contender. So when you combine all these factors, including good vibes coming from YSU and USD .... MVFC looks to be very strong this season .. could be a repeat of 2014 and 2015.

Right now, I see the top 5 below all looking to content in top 20, possibly 3 teams in top 12, plus couple others knocking on top 25 door. But the MVFC grind always takes a toll on a couple teams and they slip as season progresses.

1. North Dakota State (32) ........................392
2. South Dakota State (4)..........................348
3. Illinois State (3)......................................289
4. Indiana State (1) ....................................279
5. UNI............................................... ...........266
6. South Dakota.........................................176
7. Youngstown State .................................153
8. Western Illinois......................................128
9. Southern Illinois......................................89
10. Missouri State..........................................80

No.

Good for them. If Colgate stumbles, Georgetown has as good a chance to win the PL as anyone. Would be a nice story if they did.

Georgetown went 5-6 (4-2) last season despite being outside by 60 points.

They averaged a shade under 17 points in PL games last year, yet still managed to go 4-2.

I'm not sold on them just yet.

You'd be surprised how many Princeton guys on the Ivy board genuinely believe that a 14-9 game was a dominating blowout.

By my count we have 20 transfers on the roster, however I would still tend to agree with your assessment.

Bump.

So how did your preseason conference voters do? Doesn't look like anyone did that well predicting their conference's final standings. xlolx

EDIT: I guess the Ivy League did do pretty well... those guys are also smarter than the rest of us though.

I think it would be really close if key injuries would not have happened on several teams.

Yeah, can't really predict that stuff. Most teams have at least one or two key injuries in a season, but it's how the "next man up" does that makes a big difference.

Actual:

1T Weber 7-1 9-3 (+2,+2)
1T Sac State 7-1 9-3 (+11,+10)
3T MSU 6-2 9-3 (+1,+2)
3T UM 6-2 9-3 (+2,+1)

9T SUtah 2-6 3-9 (+2,+3)
9T Cal Poly 2-6 3-8 (0,0)
9T NColorado 2-6 2-10 (+4,+4)

Really odd that there are only 4 different conference records among 13 teams. It makes the difference between predicted and actual misleading - for instance Northern Colorado did end up at the bottom (using non-conf record as tie-breaker) but they tied for 9th place so it reads as +4.
