High School: Central Columbia

Accolades: Team captain. … Two-time All-PHAC First Team and one-time All-PHAC Second Team.

Gattuso’s take: “He’s a big, tall, long athlete. We brought him in as a pass-rusher at defensive end, but he’s also a heck of a tight end and H-back. So we see him as a multi-purpose guy. Ultimately, we think he’s going to be a big pass-rusher.”

No #96 on the roster, so I will go with Terence Archer: Assistant HC/Wide Receivers

http://image.cdnllnwnl.xosnetwork.com/pics33/800/VZ/VZBUZFFRDYLRBVK.20170809192543.jpg

Recruiting Area: East Texas, Humble

Joining head coach K. C. Keeler's staff in February, 2014, as wide receivers coach, Terence Archer was recently elevated to the title of Assistant Head Coach and has been part of an up-tempo attack that has produced more than 22,000 total yards the past three years.
The Bearkats' 7,975 yards in 2015 was a Southland Conference season record and ranked third all-time in NCAA Division I FCS history. The Kats led the nation in total offense and first downs and stood No. 5 in scoring and No. 16 in passing in 2015. The Kats were ranked among the top 25 FCS teams nationally in scoring and total offense in 2014.
In 2016 Archer's receiving corps produced a pair of 1,000-yard receivers in Yedidiah Louis and Nathan Stewart, while Davion Davis put up 960 yards as the Kats nearly became just the third team in the historyof FCS football to produce three 1,000-yard receivers in the same season. That effort help the Kats average 49.5 points per game, leading the FCS, on their way to a 12-1 record and a berth in the quarterfinals of the FCS playoffs.
Archer has helped Sam Houston roll up a 34-10 record in his time, reached the semifinals of the NCAA Division I Football Championship playoffs twice and the quarterfinals once. The Kats have also won a pair of Southland Conference championship, defeat 11 top 25-ranked opponents and finished ranked among the top five teams in the final FCS national rankings all three years.
Five wide receivers have earned all-Southland Conference honors under Archer, including Louis, Stewart and Davis in 2016. Stewart became the first freshman 1,000-yard receiver in program history in 2016 and finished third in the voting for the Jerry Rice Award, given to the national freshman of the year.

Sam Houston rolled up 3,287 yards and 22 touchdowns in the air as the Bearkats earned the Southland Conference championship in 2014. The Kats followed up with 4,158 yards and 33 scores in 2015 and averaged 49.5 points per game in 2016.
Archer served six seasons as an assistant coach at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, N. J. He tutored some of the program's top receivers including school record holder Neal Sterling, all-conference Tristan Roberts and Buffalo Bills wide receiver Chris Hogan.
In 2013 Sterling totaled 57 receptions for 647 yards and 6 touchdowns. He tied a school record with 12 reception in a game versus Lehigh and ranks third at Monmouth in career receptions (147) and touchdown catches (16). Sterling was a Jerry Rice Award finalist as a freshman when he totaled 677 yards receiving.
Roberts caught 55 passes for 714 yards and five touchdowns in 2012 to lead a Monmouth receiving corps that accounted for 14 touchdowns and almost 1,900 all-purpose yards.

Hogan played his only season of football under Archer in 2010.

Previously, Archer coached at LaSalle University. He served as recruiting coordinator and running backs coach in 2005, linebackers and special teams coordinator in 2006 and 2007. From 2002 to 2005 he was League Operations Coordinator for the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball.
Archer played football for Monmouth from 1997 to 2000, graduating in 2001. He is a native of Abington, Pa.
Archer and his wife Beth are the parents of daughters Bridget and Elimy.
