how many pages is your school's media guide? Last year, I believe ours (Southeastern La) was 208 pages, which coincidentally, is the maximum the NCAA will allow this year.

SELA had a media guide of 208 pages? Are you serious? I know you guys had a team at one point, but you also didn't for what, 20 years? What the heck filled up those 208 pages?

Lots of advertisements?

208 pages was last year's media guide. I'm not sure about this year since it hasn't been released.

We didn't have football for 18 years but we had it for 55 years before that and won the NC (before playoffs) in 1954. We have plenty of tradition and it filled up quite nicely. :)

Guess you didn't get one at SLC Media Days. This year's is ONLY 204 pages thanks to the loss of Mumme and Hankins. ;) And guess what? No advertisements either except for the back cover :p

How do other schools fare in terms of their media guides? I hope Jackson State's CD version is no more than the NCAA allows :o

I wouldn't get one at SLC Media Days. Not a member of the media here in the SLC. Would be nice, but nope...

Just seems like they're loading it up pretty good there. I don't see the point of a large media guide, but hey, they are fun to read...

NDSU's last year was 160 pages. It's viewable online here- http://www.gobison.com/SportSelect.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=2400&KEY=&SPID=695&SPSID=11862

I didn't realize Mumme's hair and Hankins' ego was enough to fill four whole pages! I guess I was wrong.

Why does the NCAA care how large a school's media guide is?

Some schools were putting out huge media guides and using them as recruiting tools - but many schools couldn't afford it so the NCAA is trying to level the playing field as well as contain costs.

Because some schools were loading it down with all types of propaganda and using it as a recruiting guide, as well as a media guide. I believe Missouri had something like 614 pages in their guide last year and most of the major BCS schools had well over 300. The smaller schools with lesser budgets weren't able to keep up so the NCAA set a limit of 208 pages.

Now, ours is just as big as Texas' (does anybody remember how many trees made the sacrifice for the Horns?), Florida State, Nebraska and LSU's :D

Lehigh had 100 pages in last year's. Haven't received this year's yet. Should be coming with my season tickets, soon.

100 pages — particularly for a team with a rich football tradition like Lehigh's — sounds awfully skimpy. Might as well go the Jackson State route, if that's all they put out.

The new Griz guide is 118 pages, and there are only a few very distant pics of me.

Unless you only want to know about Grizzly football...I would save my $9.95, and not buy it.

Here's a good article as to why.

One of the partners in my firm is a Notre Dame alum, and he has a stack of ND FB media guides in his office and each looks as big as the Boston phone book.

NU's media guide tends to be on the small side.

App crammed more info into the 208 pages than they did in the 232 page previous one.
