2018 SWAC Championship Game Southern vs Alcorn State

Southern and Alcorn are already somewhat rivals but to play for the SWAC title game only heats things up. Alcorn defeated Southern earlier this year 20-3 in Baton Rouge and the Jaguars haven't lost a game since. The SWAC Title game was moved from Birmingham due to a potential conflict with the C-USA title game and now will be played this year on the campus of the team with the higher ranking which is Alcorn State. The last time these two met in the SWAC title game was on 2014 in NRG Stadium in Houston before a crowd of 38,969. Alcorn is anticipating the largest crowd ever to watch a game at Spinks Stadium with over 30,000 expected on Saturday. Alcorn has added temporary seating for Saturday's contest.

They're about even. Alcorn is older with more standout players while Southern is getting it down with youth and a more of a collective effort. That atmosphere is going to be CRAZY though!

It's going to be a nightmare getting in there. I'm in Vicksburg tonight and most folks are leaving headed down Highway 61 to Alcorn around 5am tomorrow.
