Multiple no call fumbles, multiple pass interference calls called back because a ball was uncatchable (because the receiver was interfered with), at least one call where a player was called in bounds when he wasn't. Just terrible.

Hi there. I'm thrilled we got to the playoffs, especially seeing at the start of the year the Tigers weren't thought of to be a contending team at all.

I think the Tigers roll in this one. Win or lose with the game at SDSU, it's a great season for us.

One of those 250 checking in! As another poster said, I'm just glad that the Tigers made it to the playoffs after being picked to finish 10th in the CAA before the season. I have a good feeling that we will roll Duquesne. Can't wait to watch another playoff game at Unitas.

As an NEC guy I'd like to see the Dukes get a victory, but I just don't see it happening this year. Their offense is solid and Hines and Crawford are very good, but I don't see their defense being able to stop Towson.

I never count anyone out. The smaller conferences never get any respect. Granted the NEC isn't as deep or as good as the CAA but 6 teams is a bit much.

Side note the Pitt skyline on the back of Duquesne's helmets is pretty cool

Me too, including in the survivor pool. But I still thought the Dukes had somewhat of a chance. I even said on page 1 of this thread. I just really wasn't all that confident in any of the 1st round matchups. Too much "meh". The odds just seemed to favor Towson more than the other teams.

I had the Dukes 23rd in the final AGS Poll. They always have a good talent base by NEC standards and a strong culture of winning. The problem has been their propensity to choke in big games.

Actually, that vote for Duquesne was mine and was cast with the second round at SDSU in mind.

NEC teams have generally represented well in the playoffs.

Last year, CCSU (playing without starting QB) was down a TD to UNH with 2:00 left in the game.

In 2016, Saint Francis lost by 10 points to Villanova and outscored the 'Cats in the 2nd half.

Duquesne lost to W&M 52-49 back in 2015.

This will be the NEC's 2nd win in the last 7 seasons and the only blow-outs losses (in 10 games played) occured with the NEC's first appearance in 2010 (NDSU 43, RMU 17) and Sacred Heart's 2nd appearance vs. Fordham in 2014 (Fordham 44, SHU 22)

The NEC is now 2-7 in the First Round.

A long time ago, 2009, you Duquesne Dukes came to Thibodaux for a game against Nicholls and lost 14-7. I believe this was the first years you guys had a handful of scholarship players on the roster. One more bounce your way, and it would have been a different outcome. We were a terrible squad in 09. We were coming off a 72-0 massacre at Air Force and wouldn't win again until our last two games against rivals, one of which went 0-11 on the season.

I'll never forget the taunt a Nicholls guy hurled during the stalemate, before the go ahead punt fake TD (our only real offensive weapon it seemed that year), "DOO-CANE!? MORE LIKE DOO-CAN'T!" There were some chuckles, despite how stupid it was (and I'm guessing not original, y'all can verify?). Y'all have spent the subsequent part of the decade looking pretty consistently solid, since that 3-8 season.

Here we are in 2018, both with playoff teams. We see you, Duquesne Dukes. Good luck and good job, so far. Maybe fortune will meet us up again. We know now, you CAN.

Classy post and I actually remember that Air Force massacre. Guessing things would be a lot closer this year. Too bad you and the Dukes are in opposite brackets. (Then again, w/just 2 miracle runs you CAN save the rematch for Frisco!)
