Starting QB Kehoe went out in first Quarter for concussion protocol and now apparenly has a partially torn ACL, now by the way he has played the 2 previous games that knee was not healthy vs Albany and Stony either, he injured it vs New Hampshire but did play well enough vs Towson..... must of aggrivated it

So Rocco brings in a Freshman Nolan Henderson ...... who looks pretty talented actually with some zip on his throws and ability to tuck and run and find first downs if nothing is open

Houston was as pissed off as I've ever seen him during the ESPN interview -- slapped the committee at the beginning but made it clear in no uncertain terms that JMU didn't take care of business vs. UNH. As long as the team doesn't come out TOO jacked up to prove a point, I think we can survive and get to Colgate.

Villanova also had their starting QB back (the won who led them to a respectable start to the season) and had him knock the rust off against W&M the previous week.

We still played poorly in many ways, and should've been able to win, but we were succumbing to injuries at the same time Villanova's best players were coming back.

Still, the JMU game could really go either way, both JMU and UD have played very well and very poorly at various points in this season, it really depend on which version of each team shows up.

JMU made a few subtle changes to the offense the past 2 weeks that have resulted in back to back 30+ point outputs. Offense won't be as big a liability as people want to wish it to be. If anything, they're just now finding their stride.

It's a shame this game couldn't be played back in October, UD had a healthy QB, the defense was clicking & things looked pretty good in Newark while JMU went up to UNH (maybe that was first game in Nov) & got their clocks cleaned. Blue Hens offense will get a spark from #14 as the kid has a Johnny Manziel (Texas A&M version) light look to him. The downside is he makes his living with his legs & he will take an awful beating from the JMU defense.

I have always thought that the Delaware defense is so overrated & saw that again in The Battle of the Blue game.
Mobile QBs are a problem for the Hens. JMU will move the football most of the game unless they cough it up.

Add in that JMU has an explosive return game & solid kicking game.

Id say 28-10 or 35-10 is the score. Closer if the Blew Chicks are +3 or more in turnover margin. xpeacex

Delaware doesn't deserve to be in the playoffs coming off two straight effortless losses to end the season. To lose to Nova at home, on Sr. Day, playoffs on the line was embarrassing. Nova deserved to win but got dam that was a listless effort on the Hens part. That being said JMU is going to whoop our azzes. Delaware is not a good football team.

The NCAA regulations require that any playoff must have at least as many at large teams participating as there are auto-qualifiers. Until that regulation changes (and I doubt it will), then it doesn't do any good to complain about it.

I was shocked Delaware got in after that huge margin loss at home to a underachieving and not so good Villanova squad. I figured Delaware had to win or at least lose a close game to have a shot at a playoff game. What is insane is that if they had played with some intensity and heart and won that game they'd be hosting a game this weekend in Newark instead of having to take the 4 hour bus ride down to Virginia on Friday morning. Should be a good game but I don't think the Hens has the offense to keep up with the Dukes in Harrisonburg especially if they have a good crowd showing of 18-20k loud fans on hand. I have a few guys from my city suiting up for the Hens so I'm proud 2 of them who are seniors including a captain get to go out and have some NCAA playoff fun to end their careers.

JMU hasn't had a push over to start the playoffs under Houston yet. Another year, another BS opening round game from the committee. They'll be fine. No nervous laughs this week. Should be a hell of a game though. Keep an eye on the weather forecast though. Currently looks like crap.

I've never understood why when there's an intra-conference playoff game they can't have that conference's crew work the game. I still recall the worst officiated playoff game (by far) that I've ever seen NDSU play in was a 2nd round game against SDSU in 2014 with a horrible CAA crew. The conference crews are familiar with the players, coaches, and styles of play. Let them officiate it.

All things being said I expect the Hens to give the Dukes all they can handle this weekend. This isn't anywhere near the JMU team of the past few years with Schor, even their own fans seem to be torn when it comes to who they want playing under center. The crowd isn't a factor this week, it's Thanksgiving so the crowds are significantly smaller everywhere, it's going to rain which will keep fans away, & if you've ever been to a JMU game you'll know 50% of the fans don't come back after halftime anyway.

Maybe this game can re-spark a rivalry that hasn't really sizzled since D.J. "cheap shot" Bryant was making it rain penalty flags when he wore purple & gold....

Had a 4th one called back against Elon (1 of 2 TDs JMU had called back due to questionable penalties in that 27-24 loss)..Last 4 games teams have been either trying to punt away from Amos, or not allowing him an opportunity for a return. Often will lead to better field position for JMU, something that doesn’t show up in the stats.

3rd straight season that JMU has had a 1st team All CAA punt returner. 2016 Rashard Davis (All American, 2017 with Eagles, now with Raiders), last year John Miller, and now the rSo Amos.

His 1st year starting at safety where he’s only been so-so..

Have to agree with carrib here. The best of the CAA (pick your team) is not winning in Fargo or Frisco this season. I like JMU big here unless weather and/or turnovers happen. (Sorry Henny). Any realist paying attention knows that Delaware’s offense is pedestrian w/o Kane &/or Kehoe. The defense is overrated to some & shows signs of mediocrity against better CAA offenses.

Mike Houston/Donnie Kirkpatrick need to open up the playbook against Colgate. Delaware committed to shutting down the run game and it wasn't until he actually allowed DiNucci to toss the ball around that we could get anything going. Our offense isn't what it was in 2016 or even 2017.

Defense and special teams were solid.

I predict a close, low scoring game against Colgate. I think we can win but admittedly, wouldn't be surprised if we lost (especially if our offense is that vanilla) and would be very pleasantly surprised if we get by NDSU if we win against Colgate.
