Good for you guys. Great season for your team, and with the tough circumstances going on in California, nice positive future. All the best.

Is it just me, or does anybody else raise an eyebrow at Healthcare systems sponsoring and buying naming rights of college sports facilities? Its not just UCD, of course the Dakota's have a lot of money coming from the Sanford healthcare system.

Question is is the Sanford name in the healthcare system also a naming rights thing? He made his money in credit cards. So he donates a huge amount of money and its now the Sanford Healthcare system?

On February 3, 2007, Sanford announced a $400 million gift to Sioux Valley Hospitals and Health System (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanford_Health-MeritCare), which renamed itself Sanford Health (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanford_Health-MeritCare).[9 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T._Denny_Sanford#cite_note-abc-9)

You make a good point...I have no problem with Denny Sanford donating $ to a healthcare system, that's good philanthropy...Are the sports complex $ donated by Denny Sanford, or is the $ coming from Sanford Health?

My bet is Denny Sanford, He has his name on a lot of stuff. And by putting his name on it with a donation they intern contract Sanford Health to take care of their athletes.

If he's doing the donating and its not coming out of the healthcare system then I have no problem with it. UC Davis health is not a billionaire philanthropist though.

In this case, its UC Davis Health pitching in money for UC Davis Athletics which includes training facilities, classrooms, and a sports medicine section.
