JSU @ 6.

UCA, SHSU, and Murray State all ORV....

Not as bad as the Coach's poll but still pretty bad.

JSU at 6??? Woof! San Diego (who had to squeak by freaking Davidson giving up an NCAA record amount of rushing yards) at 21??? Double woof!

I am kind of looking forward to adding to my "what poll is the best playoff predictor" list next Sunday. :D

This may be the biggest beatdown by the AGS Poll yet as long as the selection committee is looking at things objectively.

To be fair, I think they're got most of the field correct. It's just the placing and the ORV section that are really making me question it.

Idk... they've got McNeese, SEMO, and UIW in as of right now. All 3 are very shaky and with as far back as they have teams like Furman and UND I doubt the slot voters in this poll will make the necessary readjustments in week 12 if they didn't make them this week.

I can only hope STATS doesn't dictate what happens to my Furman guys with the committee ... Apparently we need to play Davidson more often ... Though I just hope we can beat Mercer and then we will see what happens

I would pay more attention to the AGS poll than that STATS poll to get a feel for that. I put together a comparison of the AGS poll alongside the two "national polls" in terms of which one best reflected the committee's choices in terms of seeds and at-large selections and AGS compared pretty favorably to both especially when it came to which polls had the most "bad misses".

JMU over-rated.
Maine, Delaware and Towson all under-rated.
I think Elon is the 6th team in CAA

People always bitch about San Diego being in the 20-25 slot, but the last couple years they have had impressive wins against supposedly much higher ranked teams. I think they are right in that range

Nothing personnel but at 5-4 you don't belong in the poll to begin with.

This FCS poll is getting to be a bloodbath. Consistency has been an issue this year in the STATS.com top 25 media poll. You want parity in the FCS? You got it. Other than NDSU, everybody else has been taking turns losing an unexpected game. For the first time, I’ve put The Incarnate Word in my poll vote. That’s a good story. When The Word came to NDSU for ESPN GameDay in 2014, it was a brutal program just trying to get going. The growth has been impressive.

North Dakota State (10-0)
South Dakota State (7-2)
Weber State (8-2)
Eastern Washington (8-2)
Kennesaw State (9-1)
James Madison (7-3)
Colgate (9-0)

A disastrous week for the Missouri Valley Football Conference has resulted in chaos in the poll. I’m not quite sure how the committee is going to fill out spots 20-24 in the bracket, just because it was tough to fill out the last few teams in this week’s poll.

Have a look at this week’s poll, it’s a doozy.

He has gotten some crap from Bison fans lately, whether it is deserved or not, I am not sure. Him picking ISUr over NDSU was one of his gaffes. I could be wrong, but I thought I read somewhere that he was called UNDs (GFCC) lap dog.

I think Dom is biased towards UND, just like he's biased towards NDSU, because he covers them (to a lesser extent than he covers NDSU but he still covers them) so he has personal relationships with a lot of people on UND's payroll and in the media in Grand Forks.

I also think he and Jeremy Jorgenson are similar in that they both consider themselves plugged in nationally to the FCS scene but they don't allow their opinions to be challenged. I see both of them with some very inconsistent rationale when it comes to ranking teams. I appreciate the fact that they make the effort but I think they'd both be a lot better if they participated in open forums like this one to help in their research.

Look at how much better our individual polls look compared to their individual ones. I feel like the "Stats Media" poll would be better if these voters had a weekly forum where they answered questions as to why certain teams are where. The thing about this is, these men and women get paid to put out a bad poll with no recourse vs us at AGS who do it for free and take time to defend our positions. I get why Dom is biased towards NDSU, even after that gaffe of Forum Media and Bison Athletics, but at some point, IMO, if he wants the respect that comes with being vested in the national landscape, he should do a better job of defending his position instead of just throwing random teams into 25 spots.

It would be but these guys aren't really paid to do this type of thing so it's tough to get them to put a ton of effort into it I think. At least Dom posts his ballot online even if he doesn't really seriously consider the feedback he gets, that's more than most of the STATS voters do.

What I mean by paid, is they write for their local media and get selected to do this, so it would be nice to see them put a little more effort into voting for something they should know more about than the average joe.

While watching McNeese State lose to yet another subpar team in the Southland, I told myself there's still NO WAY the always predictable STATS poll leaves them out of the top 25. Looks like I was right.

After McNeese State lost to BYU, they fell to #10 in the STATS poll. Here is their performance since that game:

7 point win over now 2-7 Stephen F. Austin
3 point win over now 6-4 Abilene Christian
28 point loss to now 6-4 Incarnate Word
2 point win over now 5-5 Central Arkansas
17 point loss to now 4-6 Southeastern Louisiana
2 point loss to now 4-6 Northwestern State

That's a pretty terrible slate of games for any team. Yet, even after all that, they're STILL RANKED #22. One of the worst examples of slot voting you'll ever see.
