Actually yeah I do have a small connection! I help the football team as an Assistant Character Coach. I help the youth pastor at my church every weekend and have wanted to be a youth pastor for awhile so he asked me to help him out with them! Had a rough year so far. Got beat this weekend by the aforementioned Monmouth Fighting Scots 40-7 this week to drop us to 2-7.

How did the Coaches Poll thread suddenly turn into "everyone has connections to west-central IL"?

I mean, I do (family from Monmouth and Galesburg...my dad grew up across the street from Monmouth College)...but I'm still in Macomb, so it makes sense for me to have those connections.

All my siblings were born in Monmouth (I was born in Canton).

If you spent any time in Canton when you were younger, I'm reasonably certain you're familiar with some of my ancestors. Seems like half the stuff in town is named after them.

Didn't spend much time there - we moved from the area to East Central Illinois (then back to Kewanee area, then to Springfield) when I was 2 :)

Damn...throwing out some really small towns there (both are under 500 people, for those that aren't aware). My mom's family farm where she grew up was only about 7 miles from Little York, and I head past London Mills every time I head over to Normal for a game at ILSU...which seems like it's been rather often the last few years.

Pretty much. Young minister, fresh out of Seminary, hit up a lot of the little churches (usually had multiple country churches at once), then as he got older. had kids, etc, moved to bigger churches for longer periods.
