Have you looked at Armand Dellovade of YSU, he has 16 tackles against the Bison yesterday in one of the better LB performances I have seen in that building. The guy is small but tough as hell.

He needs some more big games like that. Voters like the TFL, sacks, INTs, etc or a player must have gaudy tackles like 120 or more. If he has 15 plus tackles each of next 2 games then he could definitely get on the list.

how about WR Aaron Parker of Rhode Island getting some consideration, his stats are better than some you have on the consideration list despite .....

Having missed a game, and sat out first half at Delaware - But despite that, still leads the CAA in yards and TD catches...

He has also missed his big armed QB JuJuan Lawson as well, but with Lawson back yesterday, those 2 teamed up for all of Rhode Islands TD's yesterday - 3 TD catches

the kid is has serious talent and when game is on line Rhode always goes to him, caught what should of been winning TD vs Maine until the Rams butted it up on D

I almost put him in there but all of the WRs I have either average over 100 a game or have 12-15 TDs. I will add him if he could just have a couple of 100 plus, 1 TD type games or 1 monster effort.

Wait, Devlin Hodges is on the cusp of breaking the All-Time FCS passing record held by the late Steve "Air" McNair, and he is not even in the top 5?????

I think the same could have been said about butting it up on Rhody's last drive as they were dead in the water until Maine roughed the QB on an incomplete pass on 4th and 10xnodx

Also Sterling Sheffield LB has been an all everything for Maine's defense that was #1 in FCS against the run before this weekends games, our front 7 is pretty good.

Seems like they do nothing but throw the ball. He is putting up a lot of yards and TDs but man he has a ton of picks. I can't vote for a guy who has that many picks in my top 5. If he could put up a couple of games without throwing some picks I would put him back in. He is very good but I like what those other QBs are doing for their teams a little more.

YSU- 82 TKL, 5.5 TFL, 1 SACK, 1 INT, 3 PBU, 3 QBH, 1 FF
Buss- 59 TKL, 8 TFL, 4.5 SACKS, 1 INT, 2 PBU, 3 QBH, 2 FR, 3 FF

Your guy does have more tackles but he doesn't have another Buck Buchanan candidate next to him and he mostly has tackles after the RB or WR picks up yards. Buss is causing more turnovers and has more tackles behind the line. That is the reason for me. I would normally drop a guy like Buss with those numbers but he started the year off well and is a potential draft pick. Olson is just that good.

With that said, I do have a couple of guys with very good TFL and sacks numbers who may replace Buss but they will need big games this next 2 weeks plus Buss would have to put up very pedestrian numbers.

a few more thoughts on Parker, he had a monster game yesterday by the way right....

Rhode Island has a few other good WR's so that takes his numbers down a bit

also, they actually play some Defense in the CAA

you put Parker out in the Big Sky say on Idaho State, you would have your 15 TD's.....

takes alot of work to do what you do and some thick skin as well, thank you for doing it....

I agree. I know how the voters are though. Parker would be on preseason list for next year if he has a decent QB. He will be a NFL prospect next year.

So last week he WAS in your top 5, then a week later he: Passes for 399 yards and 4 TDs and then rushes for another TD in leading his team to a win over a top 10 team. Now that is some very strange metrics SCFBF - VERY strange indeed!

He did nothing wrong. I flipped him and Burks. He was 5th and Burks was my top guy outside of the list but after seeing how KSU keeps winning and Burks keeps killing it I just moved him up one. It is fluid and I could put Hodges back up there next week or the week after. He just needs a week of no picks or no more than 1 pick the rest of the year. As his INT totals creep towards 20 it looks bad. Has to cut down on those. If he had just 5-9 picks right now he would be in my top 3. Some voters will likely put him in the top 3-5 anyway because of the gaudy numbers but the picks are too high.

Here is an updated list of top candidates for the combine from FCS. I have bolded those who I feel are 100% locks based on what I have seen and heard on the road with colleagues. I really think everyone but maybe 3 guys on this list should be in for sure but I think the voting could go either way. There are politics in some things and the preseason grade can effect things as well. Johnson of UNA and Parker of SUU both had high preseason grades from our combine folks and so I think they both could get in but they have not had a season that is worthy of it. I have not seen Opeta play yet and Brown of Wofford has been hurt but they both had good grades so I expect at least Opeta to get one.

I am very serious. I would not draft him because of arm strength and I think he needs to be more accurate but a lot of folks think he is a 5th-7th round prospect. I would be floored if he does not get a combine invite based on opinions out there.

I have him as a priority free agent who may make a practice squad because of lack of depth but really think of him as a camp body who only makes a practice squad because of lack of depth at the position in this draft.

It will be interesting to see what happens. I would imagine he ends up in the Shrine Game and gets a NFL Combine invite.

Makes sense. I was VERY high on him coming in to NDSU (pretty sure I even sent you a DM as a guy to watch going into has fresh year), but I think it's a reach. He's 100% more "draftable" than Jensen ever was....and maybe I'm not being fair comparing to Wentz as a prospect goes.

He is way better than Jensen. It is not even close. That is for sure. I remember some people thought Jensen could possibly make a practice squad and he was a reject for me. Stick is a PFA in my eyes but some of my colleagues think 5th-7th round.

Glad to see Adrian Hope recognized.

He's put up impressive numbers playing one fewer game than most of his competition. Furman plays VMI this week, who surrenders almost twice as many sacks as any other SoCon team, so he could have another big Saturday.

Yeah I think most of us are guilty of judging Easton off of Carson which is pretty unfair. I'm coming around to the belief Easton has a shot at making an NFL team. Watching some of the schmucks currently playing QB in the NFL and Easton is better then those IMO. He certainly has things to work on still and has not been helped by his WR corp this year. Will be interesting to watch his post season opportunities and lead up to the draft.

Just curious, what’s the big difference between Stick and TC from an NFL perspective? Is it the system he’s in, arm strength, or the Wentz affect? Mostly because I’m wildly biased and think at least for college that TC is a smidge better qb because of how much more he carries the offense.

Stick is considered a better athlete with more upside. People like Taryn but viewed more as a PFA right now while Stick is viewed as a 5-7 projection. We will see how it goes in the postseason. I see the NFLPA Bowl has invited the QB from Bowie State and I think it is a mistake if they pass on Stick and Christion because I could see either of them getting drafted. Eli Dunne from your league is another one who should get a shot in camp. I have not gone to UNI this year but I heard from some buddies that did who say he should be a free agent. Lots of QB talent in the Valley this year.

Since I don’t know how to calculate it, is Taryn’s pass efficiency really almost 100 points higher than everyone on this list, or is that a typo?

He's got his pass efficiency listed twice. I'm pretty sure that first number (254.5) is his passing yards per game and the second number (165.7) is his passing efficiency. He's got his pass efficiency listed twice. I'm pretty sure that first number (254.5) is his passing yards per game and the second number (165.7) is his passing efficiency. You can check the numbers here was well: http://stats.ncaa.org/rankings/national_ranking?academic_year=2019.0&division=12.0&ranking_period=28.0&sport_code=MFB&stat_seq=8.0

To confirm, the MVFC website also lists those as his numbers: 254.5 ypg is his passing yardage average and 165.7 is his passing efficiency. It's still impressive (165.7 is #1 in the conference), but not quite 254.5, which would be incredible for an average. It is possible, technically, but the record for the highest ever for a season is 225 and the DI record is 204.6. EWU's Vernon Adams holds the FCS record for single-game efficiency with 302.2 against Montana State in 2013. So, a 254.5 efficiency rating for the season would be the best passing performance by a QB in a season...ever...by a decent margin.

Since I don’t know how to calculate it, is Taryn’s pass efficiency really almost 100 points higher than everyone on this list, or is that a typo?

Yes, it was a typo. Corrected.
