This game was ugly for SHSU in all three phases. They played like they took Lamar for granted. Neither the offensive or defenses coaches made halftime adjustments. Lamar showed up with a chip their shoulder and we couldn't match their intensity.

Lamar rushed for 435 yards. Almost 7 yards per carry.

McNeese has to stop provinding start up programs with the biggest wins in their history....First, they let SLU beat them in similar fashion, just a year or two into SLU's ressurection...and now this...

Well...from the "I told you so" department, the oldtimers tried to explain that the #6 ranking was misplaced...

So...does this qualify as the biggest win in IWA program history?

ACU wins 48-27. Over 600 yards of offense with over 300 of those being rushing yards. Billy McCrary: 222 yards 1TD. It really is crazy to me how he barely even saw the field at Cal and now he's one of the best RBs in the conference.

On the Kats, just embarrassing. Carty sucks and needs to go northeast and not come back. That likely puts us out of any playoff discussion. Keeler needs to play the younger guys.

Sam has completely backed themselves into a corner. Even if they win out I'm not sure they get in. Strange days....

Winning out doesn’t get them in. They need a weak bubble. Need a majority of the CAA’s bubble to fall off, need MVFC’s 6-7 win teams to lose, need the Big Sky’s bubble to soften. I don’t see that happening. I think the Kats are as good as gone, although an 8-3 Nicholls team got in last year with no good wins.

I can’t predict who is going to win next week much less make the playoffs. In addition to the five teams you mention Lamar and ACU have shown the potential to beat anyone in the league. They may not make the playoffs but they can play the role of spoiler.

Personally I didn’t think Carty called a good game. Now the D was atrocious. Especially the run D. Nobody showed up, not even the Robersons or Browns you would expect to step up.

That said, 23 points against Lamar? Unexceptionable IMO. Thats just poor. Sam has played themselves right out of a playoff spot.

Brock still is the future quarterback IMO. He’s made some mistakes like any freshman would and some of them have costed SHSU. I don’t expect to make the playoffs so I think working with Brock and allowing him to develop would be a good idea the rest of the season.

I think an 8-3 SHSU gets in, not sure it will be deserved but I think it happens.

With that said, if they can get smoked by Lamar I wouldn't be calling what is left of their schedule a cakewalk.
