All this talk of stadiums had me wondering if the crew down at McNeese had anything in the works this summer. I think is was two or three summers ago that your fans organized volunteers to put a new coat of paint on The Hole. I thought that was one of the coolest things I've heard in I-AA.

McNeese stadium is getting a new scoreboard and sound system this summer, but the fans are not active in that project.

Fans/boosters are very active in trying to raise funds for a new Field House. Four major McNeese booster clubs have joined to sponsor and run a gaming tournament (the kind that is shown on many TV channels and is extremely popular nationwide right now). It is a legal tournament in Louisiana if done under Louisiana State gaming supervision, which this one is). We hope to raise at least $150,000 this time and we are being told that is a conservative estimate. If we are successful, as we anticipate we will be, then we will try to do at least one more tournament and maybe more. It's just about August and I have not seen any work on the scoreboard...:(

IT doesn't take long to put those things up. I was saying the same thing when Southern was having the new one installed. It only take 1 week to install.

Thank God it's only gaming :D If it were gambling, then it would be illegal. :confused:

The Paint job is holding up just fine from the summer of 2002. We used paint that was perfect for concrete and abuse.

Although, it could stand another presure washing, we are still tired from 3 years ago. (;

We are installing an all new Jumbotron digital big screen and an all new score board this summer. We are also about to begin a major fundrasing event for the construction of an all new field house and 450 seat plus stadium club. So at this point, I think we will wait until it is constructed in 07 to re-paint and wash down again.

Get your old ass out of the pool, buckp, and get over there and help them! :D

When we put up our new score board/video monitor (Griz Vision) a few years back, I was right there...tryin' to help, volunteering my time, effort, advice, and wisdom.

I'm not sure why, but they just wanted me to watch, and not touch anything...I'm a good watcher, and even better helper! They apparently didn't get the memo. ;)

This Tournament is legally santioned by the State of Louisiana. The State has signed off on all paperwork and the license is signed, sealed and delievered.

I hope you were not trying to imply that our boosters were hosting an illegal tournament. :confused:
