How did Hampton wind up on the schedule? Did somone drop Princeton? It's not like them to schedule a game like that.

Other than Hampton that schedule looks like same old same old for an ivy leaguer

Good question, and it'll be some kind of answer!

IIRC, we had some discrepancies in the date of the Hampton/FAMU, with each stating differing dates. That may have something to do with it, but that's only speculation on my part.

Princeton asked out of a couple of years of their ten-year agreement with Colgate and picked up Hampton and The Citadel. I do not know if there will be home and home matchups in either case.

We have a multi year, home and home series scheduled with the Tigers. Its called promotion and thinking outside of the box.

According to a member of the USD athletic department staff--and there's no doubt he'll read this--Princeton refused to play San Diego this year. That may explain a quirk or two on Princeton's schedule.

I doubt that. Princeton and USD played a Home and Home in, I believe 2004 and 2005. If PU had dropped USD in a game that had already been scheduled, it would be common knowledge. There is no hiding a team that's on your future schedule one day and then gone the next. If USD asked for a game and PU was already scheduled, as most Ivy teams are for about 10 years, that's something different and could hardly be called "refusing" to play.

Wow what a shock.. Lehigh and Lafayette to start.. that's a loss.. xrolleyesx

The Hampton/Citadel games were scheduled for awhile, going back to 2003 or 2004..

I heard they said they'd play USD after Josh Johnson left. xrolleyesx

I seem to think HU is coming up there to lay the wood on PU's backside.

PU home and home with Citadel in '08 and '09; I believe Tigers play at Hampton in 2010.

Perhaps these are the days that we will all look back upon with approval saying that it was Princeton that led the stuffy Ivies out of their isolation.

I for one am happy they're off our schedule. They are one Ivy that would always give us fits, even in years when they shouldn't (on paper).

Always a characteristic of that series for both schools. Some amazing upsets over the years.

Don't sleep on HU. Even with the youth movement, this will be a competitive game.
