‘Reported’ is the right word unless all in the hospitality tents... seemed pretty sparse on camera even before the route kicked in

Considering the rainy weather, I was really surprised by the decent turnout.

Reported box score 47,921 paid attendance in the cotton bowl to watch PV snap Grambling’s 25 consecutive IC victory streak. The entire lower bowl was full almost capacity and the upper decks around the whole bowl were sparsely populated causing me to guesstimate ~60-65K. I’ve attended this game for 38+ years and know what a 63K attended game looks like. This was one of those games. The gray anticipated rain coupled w/ earlier showers may have prevented more from coming as anticipated target #s were aiming at 72K.

Probably not.... but if there was a way to get half of the students from sorority/fraternity row into the stadium we would have a much better atmosphere. They already have free access. We have a good product on the field and Samford was a decent opponent. Maybe our base will continue to grow each year? I don't know I just want to pack out our small stadium.

hard to understand why those Fraternity boys don't go inside the stadium to watch these college football games

Oh, wait, beers and Sororities?

nevermind

Dartmouth has to do something. Like everyone else, we've had a steady drop in attendance over the years. But this year is a HUGE drop this season for no apparent reason (team is great, weather has been perfect). Hope that things pick up later...

8,275 reported at Fitton to see the Bison ruin Homecoming. Most outside the Stadium.

It is troubling to see these numbahs for FCS in the Northeast. 10,000 seems to be the new 20,000 these days....really not sure what the answer is in general.

Found this pic online the other day and found it telling...HC at Brown in 1972...visitors side nearly filled that day in Providence. I was there as a kid. You'd never see anything close to that today.

Last points believe it or not were at Virginia Tech. Score 17 in Blacksburg and 0 at home against Colgate. Weird.

And 0 in Bridgeforth vs. the Dukes sandwiched between those two games; you guys have been outscored by a lot the last 3 games. Hope it gets better for you soon.

Even more impressive given that Brown sucked that year and HC was mediocre.

Those were the days....nevah to return to that level of attendance in the Northeast.

Have to accept the new normal of 5-10K for most FCS games in the Northeast and hope it doesn't further erode.

You have to think at some point, if it drops even further, schools that still have FCS football in the East will really start to look if it's all worth it $$$-wise.

The photo really captures Eastern College Football between the 1950's and early 1980's.

I don't think we need a bigger stadium if we can't even sell out a game against our biggest and closest rival. :(

I don't think we need a bigger stadium if we can't even sell out a game against our biggest and closest rival. :(Harvesting started and so did hunting. Hard to compete against North Dakota's favorite pastimes. Not that this is the main reason but it does factor in a little bit.
