I felt there just wasn't enough competitions going around on AGS this season, so I wanted to bring back what is always a fun one.

After gaining permission from clenzy, I've decided to resurrect a pick'em contest for all of the FCS here on AGS. Yes, I missed the first week, but my goal is to make it FCS vs. FCS for the most part, and there was a pretty small slate of like games last weekend. So, we'll start this week and play until the final regular season weekend.

Scoring will be pretty basic, for the most part. One point for each correct game picked. There will be a couple of additional opportunities, though. The top game on the Pick'em form each week will be worth two points. Then there will be a couple bonus questions each week. If that person or persons gets the pick right on, they will get 2 bonus points.

I will try to get somewhere from 20-30 games each week and also try to include as many of the FCS conferences as possible. Just for fun, there will also be one lower division game each week, most likely pairing two top 25 teams against each other.

I'll keep a leaderboard going throughout the season.

The deadline for picks each week will be right before the first game on Saturday starts, usually around Noon Eastern time.

Well, there's no way for me to know if you're a dumb person, but I can at least tell you that is a good question! ;) Tiebreakers only apply to teams being picked from.

I debated back and forth, but it's much easier to just use the teams that are on the form for the given week. Someone has already messed up on that and I should remind them to do so.

Congrats to Scrappy94 who not only picked a very impressive 19 out of 20 games correctly, but also nailed the bonus question regarding who would win by the largest margin.

Both Elon and Illinois State won by 38 points. Monmouth scored the most points with 56. Nobody had Monmouth, but 4 people had Illinois State and were given 2 bonus points for their correct guesses. Those four were Bisonator, MR. CHICKEN, Scrappy94, and Prime Power.

Great first week everybody! Remember this is a season-long competition so remember to keep getting your picks in! Yes, that is the main goal, while trying to include as many conferences as possible is an additional goal. I'd like to see it at 25 picks each week, but there just hasn't been enough intrigue yet. Maybe once all the conferences get into full force and the FBS games are gone will there be a better chance to get to that number.

I like your regular questions better. These are more, just luck questions. The others were luck too, but with some thought involved.

I would argue these still involve a little bit of strategy/thought involed. For example, with the more normal questions, you have a general idea of teams who will have the highest scoring games, lowest scoring, highest margin, lowest margin. With most medium margin and points, you have to try to pinpoint the games that won't be blowouts but also won't be nailbiters. It's mostly luck, but basically everything in this pickem challenge is luck anyways, haha. Plus, it's fun to see the wide range of what people will come up with for any given question.

I usually do my picks on Thursday or Friday. There always is danger for me in waiting until the last minute, though. I'm so absent-minded and Friday is the most often day where something might come up. The next thing I know, it's Saturday at noon and I never made any picks! I'm the same with NFL Pick'em. I like to wait, but every so often, I'm rush picking at the last minute because it slipped my mind for too long!
