Sounds about right to me. Yale should be heavily favored. I’m thinking Harvard finishes 5th, not 3rd.

Yale lost a lot on defense and most of the O-line. They are solid at QB and have great depth at RB and good receivers.

If the offensive line can mold into a solid unit, Yale should be good, but at this point Princeton is the favorite in my mind.

Princeton's has that Mr. All Everything QB John Lovett back for one more year after being injured all last year...and as a back-up QB, the top ranked FCS freshman coming out of high school - although this is the Ivy League, so who knows.....

As always, injuries may decide who wins. The league has more depth than ever, but any team losing their top QB to injury could be in trouble.

Yale should be heavily favored.

Rumors on the Ivy Board saying that Yale's captain and best defensive player left the team. Still awaiting some sort of statement from Yale, or at least pictures showing that the guy has been practicing.

If he isn't playing, then Yale could very well be Princeton 2017 again.

My guess is whatever’s going on (if anything) hasn’t been resolved yet. Otherwise he wouldn’t still be on the roster.

Not on the roster now, unless my alphabetizing & numerizing skills are failing me...or I have the wrong Player in mind.

You're right. I don't see his name on the roster anymore and I know it was there on Monday.

It was there when I posted at 8:23. The mystery deepens. Some guy on the Ivy Board had inside info on this but he was pretty cryptic about it. He referenced political correctness. I hope it’s nothing serious.

Very strange. This isn't just any player, it's the captain. The most prestigious honor for a Yale football player.

If he won't be with the team, someone else will have to be elected.

It’s very concerning. I can’t imagine this is a result of anything good.

It's hard to imagine a positive scenario that would call for his name being removed from the roster.

You can only play one QB at a time. Defense and conditioning needed work and hopefully that will be improved.

Well... I believe that all of the Ivies have had been withholding more info regarding their football teams from the public in the past decade or so that I've been following them... xsmhx

But the captain leaving the team? Even if it would happen for a scholarship team, that's not good news at all.

If he is gone for the season, you can take those first-place finish predictions for Yale and throw them in the trash.

I'm sure Yale will be fine, but few can say that they are the same team after losing their captain and best defensive player.

Its a a big loss but not fatal. Yale has a lot of young talent at that position. Calender and Roman are both excellent. They also have a highly touted freshman coming in named Osorachukwu Ifesinachukwu. Yale will definitely still be in the mix.

Princeton was certainly "in the mix" last season as well. But they didn't finish first, as unanimously predicted.

I agree that Yale will be fine and dangerous. Could they win it? Sure. But I'm sure plenty of prognosticators would make their pre-season choices differently if they knew that Mullen wasn't going to play.

"He left for personal reasons,” Reno said following Yale’s Wednesday morning practice. “That’s all I can say. All of our players, that’s all they can say. Anything further would have to come from Kyle.”
