Anyway, yes, the new helmet was unveiled last Wednesday night at a SH football "Meet the Coaches" night. :nod:

The only thing I know for certain is that the uni's will at least be tweaked to match the new helmet. Not sure if there is going to be any real noticeable changes or not though.

I don't know if you missed the thread or not, but yes we have new helment logos. That is the standard logo now for Sam Houston instituted by the current University President. The helment of revealed at a recent Alumni Football Dinner in Houston. I like it except I wish, like many others, the inside of the letters was white like the other helments. The orange on the helment and the logo clash a little, but they do look good. As far as new uni's, no mention of that at this time. I am going to miss the "KATS" logo personally.

On the same subject, I didn't care when northwestern state went with an all purple helmet.. I liked their white helmet with the N and pitchfork with flames..

I like the logo, but many of us have already suggested that they add some white inside the letters so it will show up. Just like the "KATS" logo on the helments last year.

Significant improvement. By far the best looking helmet Sam Houston's had since I've been seeing the team. And I don't think I'd like it as much if the letters were white as some suggest. Different strokes for different folks.

I love the new logo and helmet, though it could be tweaked a bit with some white to make the logo show up better. I've always thought the Southland has the best helmets as a conference in I-AA and this just makes it better.

Funny you say that 02, because I just showed a friend (who is completely unbiased towards either Texas State or SH) and he said that it looked like a HS helmet. I showed him a Texas State helmet and he said now that is nice looking helmet. :cool:

Texas State has 1 winning season since 1992 and 3 since 1985.

SHS has 6 since 1992 and 10 since 1985.
