UCA switched from Adidas to Nike this year. New unis, helmets reconditioned, and gloves etc..

All we have so far is a pic of the gloves. xlolx

Dartmouth has been doing the "alternate jerseys" for a while now. It is anyone's guess as to what combination of black/gray/green/white we wear for a game.

So if we get new uniforms, I doubt anyone will notice. :)

Im tired of new uniforms. Every freaking couple of years some idiots starts the same old BS about getting some weird ****ing helmet or camo uni because the kids love them and its great for recruiting. **** that, If the kid isnt sold on the program and a camo jersey is the deal breaker he can go play someplace else.

I feel the same way. I like to look at the feild and know who is playing without having to figure out what I am looking at.

Black would be hideous mixed with the current shade of A&T’s blue. It would mix really bad. Look at what West Virginia did to their uniforms with the addition of black.

Sam just got a new uniform set last year, so I’m not expecting any changes. Just your typical monochrome orange uni.

I’m a big uniform dude and an aspiring graphic designer, but I couldn’t agree with this more. Come out with a few uniforms every decade, wear them, update them when needed. And please, no more of this American Flag bull****. If thats your way of showing patriotism, find a better way please. And the pink cancer awareness stuff is bad too.

Colgate will be celebrating its Bicentennial in 2018-19. I would think that would be good for some kind of patch. For the School's 150th anniversary, in 1969, Colgate's maroon helmets sported a decal depicting a white football with a "100" printed in the center of the pigskin. It was an interesting contrast that season with the many schools who celebrated the College Football Centennial with helmet decals featuring a football with "100" in the center.

And please, no more of this American Flag bull****. If thats your way of showing patriotism, find a better way please.

Exactly. And according to the flag code, you're not supposed to do that in the first place.

US Flag Code, Section J-8:
"No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations. The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. Therefore, the lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on the left lapel near the heart."

I guess it kinda depends on whether you consider what some schools have done to be a part of the flag, or just a vaguely flag-like pattern of red and white stripes with blue and white stars in areas. Either way, it's a crass display of false patriotism. Respect the flag...don't wear it.

I heard rumors of an 'alternative' uniform design for Furman last year. But no evidence to back it up.

With Clay Hendrix as the head coach at Furman and his commitment to bring back what it means to be a PALADIN I doubt and hope we won't see black uniforms again.

My guess at what we could see IF there is an alternate uniform is the addition of silver/gray look. FYI… the original Diamond F helmet was silver, not white.

looks like it was added back to the helmet center stripe in 2017

Now...just need to add it as the center stripe on the sleeve & pants and as ‘shadow’ on the numbers/letters...then all will be right again!

My only critique of the Moorhead years is the gawd-awful helmets he brought to the program. The numbers on one side, the maroon-on-maroon "F," the change to a more brownish shade of maroon, even the helmet stripe wasn't to my liking. Glad Conlin has rectified some of these things and also glad he got rid of all the gray and black trim from the uniforms. Unees look cleaner now although he still needs to tweak the helmet a bit.

With Conklin at the helm, we already have some new practice jerseys and some black trim (I think that's what it's called) on gold pants.

Not to rain on your parade, but they look basically the same to me. I'm sure there are subtle differences, but they seem like the same look as always at Fordham (which is just fine in my book).

I saw what I think was a fan version of this jersey that the NDSU bookstore accidentally put up early on their website and I was not a fan of it. I'll spare you the ugliness of that but hoping that the new player version of the unis unveiled on Friday look a bit better.

I'm just surprised a ref the previous season didn't say something about it...maybe "hey coach, the uniform is illegal and is in violation of rule XXX.X, I'll let you get by this time unless the other team complains, then I'll have no choice but to call a penalty. Get it fixed ASAP" or something like that.

If the rule wasn’t active that previous season there was nothing an official could say.

Nor is it a refs duties to remind a coach for 2 years about a rule change their AD has gotten many documents on.

There’s no extra verbal warning to be given because nothing can be changed - unlike a mouth piece, chin strap, back plate, etc.

It’s been known FOR YEARS when and what the rule would be. Not the officials fault the team and school decided to ignore it for years.

Sorry, but not true. I've done the equipment check and yes, you are to advise the coach if any part of the uniform is not compliant. That includes numbers, patches, or other adornments to the jersey. Again, a few permanent markers solves the problem.

And if you’d have followed the conversation you’d know that in the 2 years leading up to the rule the official would have nothing to say because at the time they were allowed.

Plus when it comes to in game penalties for it the pregame check serves as the verbal warning.
