Sr. LB LaMarcus Rowell and TE Keller Speaks are dismissed from the team. Speaks violated team rules and Rowell academically ineligible.

Losing Rowell is huge he was the best player on the team.

FU will be the only one needing excuses. We will be a large (now even larger) underdog in this matchup.

It will certainly give us all a bit of breathing room.

I'd say Murray and EKU benefit the most.

JSU will still be the favorite. We will still have to beat ourselves in the OVC. This should be the best team we have had in 10 or 15 years even with the loss of Rowell.

Anyway it is tough to get that type of news this late. I understand although typically for FU that news is basketball related.

I didn't take it that way. We are more than one player from Furman's level and he was with us last year.

This board reminds JSU and the OVC of our competitive status quite often.

Well my comment WAS intended as SMACK. (even though we have been predicted to finish next to last in the conference and JSU has beat the dog doo doo out of us the last two years)

Tennessee State? You've got to be kidding. They lost Charles Anthony (now with the Tennessee Titans) and fired their coach. They should be battling Tennessee-Martin for the cellar.

Murray State and Eastern Kentucky are probably the teams to beat, if Jacksonville State falters.

Sorry to hear about your players. Rowell looked real good last year in Richmond . For the rest of you posters ..it dosen't matter to us. JSU knows who they must beat to win the OVC. OVC championship game will be played on Oct 1 .
