What I do for VMI is log into twitter, and search for both "VMI" and "virginia military institute" to see who is being looked at, offered, etc....

Thought this is what most did

Which are the most reliable and up to date? You won’t get all of the Rankings BS here, but I think they have done a very good job of organizing who has signed where and present it in a well-thought-out layout

NDSU gets great recruiting coverage from 247 sports at https://247sports.com/college/north-dakota-state.

However, I don't think there's very many other FCS schools that have similar coverage there since most only show a few commits and obviously everyone has more than that now.

This site covers all of the Big Sky in general, but the bulk of the coverage is Montana and Montana State: http://skylinesportsmt.com/

It tracks all of the recruiting news and offers for the 'Cats and Griz, but may only have a full review of the other Big Sky recruiting classes after they are complete. There's a fair amount of articles for free, but for the full coverage you need to subscribe.
This is the recruiting page: https://skylinesportsmt.com/category/recruiting-central/

Stats good for commits . For offers and visits, 247 OK but nowadays twitter much more up to date. Easier to be more specific in your search parameter.

ditto on twitter!!! you can become a good recruiting sleuth with just a little digging and patience. In Furman's case you can even pick up some of the PWO commits. That's preferred walk on.

One note on twitter stalking… you can also follow a team's commits recruiting other players right there in your feed. Lots of transparency far more than 247… which in Furman's case is always a step behind in offers, targets, commits and who they give stars and who they don't.

That's what I do. I've got a column in tweetdeck (I use the tweeten windows 10 app actually) that shows any time "WIU" or "Western Illinois" shows up. You could narrow it down with your school names/abbreviations and the word "commit", "offer", "walk on"...stuff like that.

Just remember...don't tweet at recruits...that can be an NCAA recruiting violation. Let the coaches and staff do the actual communications.

Dangerous move for UNI. Seriously. Go search UNI in twitter. It’s a word in like 19 other languages. It’s just full of non English tweets and more by the second.

Euros call college university, which is always shortened to UNI.

It’s a numerical notation in every Spanish variant

Apparently it’s the #1 used word in like Korean or whatever language those tweets are.

A UNI search trigger would return a result every 2 seconds or so.

Ok, so "mileage may vary"...depending on popularity of your school's abbreviation in other languages or other situations.
For WIU, I really only get one of two "mis-hits"...someone misspelling WiiU when talking about video game consoles, or someone talking about an ambulance sound...weeeuuuuu weeeeuuuuu.

Meh. We know who has offers and who has committed. It’s really not that hard to find out. Of the program doesn’t put out anything official so be it.

I’ll play it up for the bit of playing it up. I’m a bit poster, it’s what I do.

I know of QBs from California that have UNI offers that aren’t listed as having offers on PN or through the UNI Recruit List twitter account (which really needs to up its game of it wants respect yesterday it retweeted a kid saying he had an offer in December and since then had lost his offer to UNI and committed to ISUR).

It’s a bit. The reality is so many NDSU fans, like yourself, fall for the bit so fast, it’s too much fun not to play the character bit at all times.

I wouldn't put a lot of stock in 247 Sports' data. I did a quick check of just the guys who signed with us on the early signing date. There are four players that are in their system that have already signed with Western and aren't listed as even being committed to anyone:
https://247sports.com/Player/Brandon-Malkow-46037791
https://247sports.com/Player/Herschel-Blankenship-46047411
https://247sports.com/Player/Deshon-Gavin-46038166
https://247sports.com/Player/Victor-Akinyemi-46038505

And at least two who have verbally committed to us, are in their system, but aren't listed as committing to anyone:
https://247sports.com/Player/Daymon-Murray-46046154
https://247sports.com/Player/Isaiah-Morrison-46038018

Of course, there's quite a few more that aren't in their system at all, but you'd think that if they already signed NLI's with someone, they'd maybe at least get that bit updated.

3 signees that were 2 star or higher....they have more total recruits. I think this will change pretty dramatically as we get through the second signing period. How many teams are done recruiting and won't improve their class? How many teams will pick up a late qualifier that was passed up by the BS guys? And there is the whole, stars are pointless thing!!!! ha.

247 is bad for FCS schools. We had 6 guys sign in December. 2 of them are 2 stars according to their system

None of them are listed as signed for MVSU like this athlete listed on their site. Only two guys of note they have in their system as having an offer from us. Then there is the case of a RB that will sign with us tomorrow that was a 3 star last year when he was offered by USC but now is a 2 star. We're not even listed on his offers list (this was discussed on here before about the biased star system)

Yeah, 247 apparently does not even carefully keep up with LOI signings for FCS. Samford signed OL Gavin Orr in the early period. At that time, Orr was a 3*** player who had scads of FCS offers and 6 from FBS schools. He is not listed on the 247 site as having signed with anyone yet. For some reason, also, he is now a 2** with 247 and Rivals. Insignificant info maybe, but I am just agreeing with opinions that 247 is not too interested in FCS commits and signings.

I’ve gone over this before and won’t again but I general stars and recruiting sites are pure garbage.

Thanks for all the insight. I too am annoyed that the 24/7 Rivals and others really do a lousy job of updating. Elon had 10 signees in December and yes I see Tweets on Twitter on confirming verbal commits. ESPN does great on the top 300 per se for FBS school's and the only time these guys go to FCS teams if they screw up or transfer to retain eligibility. At our level it's about player development and coaching guys up. May all the faxes be up and running manana. Freak'n Fax Machines.

Please tell me that is pronounced "Day One" ..... If so, I'll give him a close second to UTC's GENUINE Potts for the All-name team. Gen-U-ine is the Real Deal!!!!!! and a pretty good WR too.

The irony on him being the first signee of the day is not lost on me....however, wasn't signing Day 1 back in December????

FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH (FWIW), with all of the acknowledged errors & omissions, below is 247's Rank of 92 FCS Teams' 2018 Recruiting Classes. I don't know why some Teams are omitted. As many have said, it pretty much sux...but if someone would like to locate/post a more complete and accurate substantially complete ranking, that would be fabulous. Until then, here ya go, FWIW...

Also...I've bolded the SoCon Teams (that were included by 247 - ETSU & VMI 'not pictured') because...well, because I wanted to.

You won’t get all of the Rankings BS here, but I think they have done a very good job of organizing who has signed where and present it in a well-thought-out layout

Thanks for that handy dandy link. Good view of who is recruiting local vs national. Also a good link to compare if your team is getting skill sets and size needs to keep up with the competition.
