What are the things in 2017 about your team that gave you a sense of pride (gameball) and what frustrated you this year (jockstrap) ?

UCA

Gameball - The Bears won the Southland Conference Championship outright.

Jockstrap - Our head coach interviewed for another position the week of our first playoff game and basically checked out on the team. xpissedx

MSU-Mankato-

Gameball- won first 13 games- NSIC title- got to regional finals.

Jockstrap- Defense missed 26 tackles, special teams 11 & gave up the lead on a kick return. Lost to D2 champions Texas A&M Commerce.

Gameball: The Kats beat two tough opponents in three weeks, then lost to UCA. We did well and put that behind us. Went all the way to the semis.

Jockstrap: The NDSU game as a whole.

Jockstrap - shared between the defense and the coaching staff who haven't done a thing to correct the situation on that side of the ball for years.

Gameball - Freshman QB Cole Copeland stepped in and looks to have a very bright future
- Defense was strong all year
- lots of young guys saw game action

Jock - Offensive Line was handing out sacks like Oprah handing out keys to cars on her birthday.
- Offensive play calling was predictable and vanilla (probably due to LOFT* on the O-Line)

IMO for EWU:

Gameball: Going 7-4 against a better the average schedule and with a new coaching staff on the offensive side, including a new OC after the first hire resigned 3 weeks before the start of the season.

Jockstrap: Not making the playoffs.
