This is how I see it.

For Offense: With Jake and Dallas graduating, if TC can replicate what he did this year, I would say he runs away with it after losing 2 of the most dominant players to ever play in the FCS but Keelan Doss should have another shot at it as well.

For Defense: I would take Rozeboom as a slight early favorite, but Bridges and Gooden should be in the running. Now if Cox replicates the season he just had I would say he garners votes and would still have 2 more years of eligibility.

**** no.

I had him in the just missed category. With Thomas gone he will need to step up and win games for them, unless they bring in a key transfer or someone on the team now steps up.

Curious on you Bruce Anderson selection? Why him and not Lance Dunn? Dunn is quite a bit more explosive, and I’d expect him to return to that form next year after the injury. The biggest issue NDSU backs will have next year is a log jam at the position. For that reason It is doubtful any NDSU player has a realistic shot at winning it. Doubtful for Stick as well since we don’t throw that much. However, the offense as a unit is going to be something worth watching.

There's a good chance he's not even our starter next year. We got a guy.

Also, it's a possibility that Roc's absence may not be felt. Word on the street is there's some stuff coming down the pipeline.

Go Lehigh TU owl

If Lehigh's defense improves (likely no chance at this point), but IF, Bragalone and Mayes will be in the conversation until the end. Lehigh still has a ton of talent waiting in the wings at WR. There might not be a Pelletier or Casey as of now but history says someone will emerge. I honestly think Lehigh's offense was better than SDSU's or SHSU's this year but their defense just destroyed any chance for a Top 10 type year.

Dunn, Anderson, and Stick for NDSU will not put up enough individual #s for the Payton. The system won't allow for it.

IMO that would be a big stretch considering the turnover in coaching and how the air raid probably inflated some of those stats compared to what you guys might use this year. Would it be safe to assume coach H will slow things down considerably?

I still at least mention a player if they are among the best but don't have the stats. Worst case I put them in the "just missed" category. They deserve their names on here. Just like I believe in doing for Carson Wentz.

Almost did but not playing in the playoffs hurts you guys for having multiple players considered. Parker would not have been on the ballot I'm sure had he not been a big time NFL prospect as well. He was not just a great FCS lineman but a next level talent who is better than anyone else. It was actually a joke to me that he did not win the Payton. It needs to be renamed for the best skill player or there should be an OL of the Year award because it is sad to me that he did not win it.

His performance in the Celebration Bowl, which was aired on ABC, should've opened up eyes to POY candidates and NFL scouts. Tarik's performance in the 2015 Celebration Bowl opened eyes up to scouts.

That seems unclear at this point. Hauck is supposedly bringing back the fullback, but he's also bringing in Timm Rosenbach to be the OC. Rosenbach's Adams State team threw it more than 50 times-per-game last year.

Davion Davis' path my get a little easier. Keelan Doss is set to graduate in May. He has another year of eligibility, and could return. Rumor has it he is waiting to see where he is projected to go in the draft.

I say there is a strong chance he plays in Davis next year. Just a hunch.
