I guess you are talking about an inadequate facility? Well CCU is right there with ya, I don't think we have any pictures of our closet. If / when we get our new fieldhouse then we should have a rocking weight room.

Our weight facility is not big by any means, especially when all sports share the same one. There was supposed to be a new weight room included in the new baseball/softball complex that is being completed.

The $100,000+ donation from Marcel Shipp, (who works out there in the off-season) is the reason that the weight room exists at all (with help from others).

The bastards in Boston (BC grads) would never approve states funds for a weight room of that size. Thank god for private financing...

To borrow and amend a well-worn phrase, "it's not the size of the weight room, it's the fight in the weight room that counts!"

While luxurious weight room facilities can serve as a great recruiting tool, if you don't have a quality strength coach, or players focused on getting bigger and stronger, you're probably not going to be very good.

Apparently, SH is in the process of building a new weight room complex...hope they've seen the blueprints to those. What a recruiting tool...

I can't find any pics of UD's weight room but the facility is named for one of the greatest backs in the history of Delaware football and the Wing T who died of Hodgkins lymphoma only a few years after graduating from UD back in the early 70's. Tubby was known for painting a portrait of one player each week during the season and his painting of Hall still hangs in the weight room as a memorial.

Here is a picture of the main area at NDSU. The wall near the left used to separate raquetball courts from a basketball court in the upper concourse at the Bison Sports Arena.

From www.gobison.com:

The NDSU strength and conditioning complex was completed in January 1999 on the south end of the Bison Sports Arena's second floor. The complex consists of a 9,000-square-foot weight room and a 6,000-square-foot concourse for warm-ups, speed and agility drills, and plyometrics.

JMU has a large separate facility for students. The weight room in the picture isn't even for all sports -- just football and a couple others. Other sports use another weight room.

Very true. Our weight room doesn't look too good. While I was there, two of our managers were painting and helping Coach Matt Walter get the place looking better. I hadn't been there in a while, but it was starting to look a bit better. For saying our place didn't look nice, Matt did a helluva job with the guys. They miss him a lot. I don't know what they think now of the new strength and conditioning coach, but a few guys told me they are smaller than they were this time last year.

I must admit, we took a tour of Texas States' weight room and lockerroom and we were blown away! Nicest facility I've ever seen! They just need to work on their visitor's lockerroom and get rid of the loud speakers right on top so at halftime the coaches and players can hear each other.

Other than that, everything was incredible. Not to mention the western-style "Wanted" signs of Martin Hankins and Felton Huggins on the guys' lockers. Very creative.

That's not necessarily a bad thing. I thought a lot of our guys were carrying too much body fat last year. The true test will be how we fare in quickness, explosiveness, and durability.
