Why do all the games essentially take place at the same time? Can’t we start the first two weeks at noon EST and have one game start every hour?

2pm EST- Stony Brook@JMU, Furman@Wofford, Kennesaw State@Jacksonville State
230pm EST- San Diego@NDSU
3pm EST- UNI@SDSU, UNH@UCA, South Dakota@SHSU
8pm EST- Weber State@Southern Utah

The home team picks the kickoff time unless ESPN is televising the game.

Crazy that 7 games all happened to pick within an hour of each other. Yesterday wasn’t much better. Luckily UNI has the game in hand so we were checking in on the other games during breaks.

Early kickoff is a total Wofford move

Yeah this is frustrating. Would love to watch and actually pay attention to several of these games in real time, but that's hard to do with so much overlap.

The NDSU-San Diego game is a 3:30 EST kick

From the manual (page 14): http://www.ncaa.org/sites/default/files/2017DIMFBL_PreChampsManual_20170914.pdf

During the first three rounds of the championship, the NCAA will solicit the preferred starting times of host institutions. However, games may start no earlier than 2 p.m. local time and shall be determined by ESPN.

Not sure why Elon kicked off at 1 PM yesterday though, unless North Carolina is still in DST for some reason. Their regular season home games were at 6, 2, 2, 2, and 12 PM.

So they do have a stupid rule.

We basically were forced to kickoff as early as possible. Any later and we'd be competeing with the SEC championship for attention.

I like 2 pm kickoffs in late November or December. Good weather and pre- and post-game tailgating time...xdrunkyx

There is only one game I really care to watch so I don’t care when the others start. Jax State starts at 1:00, not sure what the 2:00 rule is about unless we got a waiver due to the SEC game.

I’d rather not play at night in December anyway.
