The inside run is great, but it’s hard when the defense is trying to take that away. As the game wears on, and those DTs lose a step, I expect you will see a lot more Wilcox and Dirks.

I knew new what the YT hot take was gonna' be. And I love it. Elon beat us close in game 2. We beat them close today in a three turnover tough win. I mean tough. On the road, three crucial turnovers, to a team that had beaten' us. . We beat Mercer close. Lost to Samford close. It's coming around. And as you know (YT knows his stuff) furman is both young AND injured - you see all our injuries today? I swear we get more guys dinged up on D .. I asked elon fans and they said, yeah we have one RB and one CB out. Wth? We have three starting LBs out by game four. Lost our most experienced LB in the second q v Wofford. Not counting injuries we have 8-10 freshman starting or so. People need to remember we were picked to be seventh in a SoCon for a reason. We are easy two years ahead of schedule. I thought we win 5 this yr. 6 or so next yr. then hope for playoffs in 2019.

NATIONAL CHAMPS. SoCon champs are for teams that can't win national champs. Jk. Also, we have played in THREE title games. Wofford has played in NONE. Don't go down this path. And we have more SoCon champs than ANY current conference member - 14 I think. And furman has more playoff appearances than any current SoCon member w 17! (5th nationally?)

Elon was scraping by and then smacked by Toledo (I don't really count that ,) and JMU. No shame losing to JMU but to be 8-3 and have a negative point differential means you had a lot of close games. furman point differential was + 100 or more.

Again though I am surprised how tough some are on furman. We were picked seventh in SoCon based on returning talent. We are now one of two SoCon teams left and in sweet sixteen and 8-4. Only fools are saying we are super. We are v good and at times look great w some well-timed throws etc. but we are v young w 8 or more freshman starting and it shows. We certainly can't give up three big turnovers and beat woff. They are too good for that. It does say a lot that we had three big turnovers ( they scored 14 and the pick erased 3/7 for us) and still beat a 8-3 CAA team at their place. And we don't defend the pass well yet held then in complete check for the first half ! I think in first half they not scored once in the short field fumble. we are improving
