Mine would have to be:

Sam Houston @ McNeese - another good trip to Lake Charles
Sam Houston @ Tx State - looking forward to a great game
Sam Houston @ Northern Colorado
Sam Houston @ Texas Tech - hopefully going to witness a big upset :)

I am going to try to make all of them but those are the big 4 I am looking forward to the most.

Umass @ Delaware, both Maine and Delaware should be great games
Umass @ Army, Would love to see Umass knock off a I-A team
Umass @ Hofstra, Hofstra will have a much better team this year. It should be a good one.

That's easy. Georgia Southern. Given what things were like last year it'll probably be ugly but it's still a Mecca of I-AA football.

Well, the only two I'm rock-solid about going to - Towson and nova. Towson, not for the quality of the game but just because it's a new venue for me - never been down there. And the nova game, of course, because we can't stand those rotten **!*!*Bleeps from nova. :)

Maine's always too far (and the game's on TV anyway) and W&M's got rotten sight lines (and it's a little far this year - new addition to the family and all).

JMU Duke Dog
July 19th, 2005, 12:25 PM
All of JMU's road games will be interesting in 2005. We will find out if the Dukes continue to be the road warriors in 2005 after what happened in the 2004 playoffs.

Sept. 10 ~ JMU @ Coastal Carolina
Will the Chanticleers show the rest of I-AA that they are for real by knocking off the defending national champions? This will be the first matchup between these two teams. The Chanticleers will visit Bridgeforth Stadium in Harrisonburg in 2007.

Oct. 1 ~ JMU @ Hofstra
The surprise team of 2004 meets a team that could be the surprise team of 2005. The Dukes have not lost on the Pride's home field since 1999.

Oct. 15 ~ JMU @ Massachusetts
Like Hofstra, the surprise team of 2004 meets a team that could be the surprise team of 2005. The Dukes have not won on the Minutemen's home field since 1987. In 1989 they finished in a tie with a score of 28-28.

Oct. 22 ~ JMU @ Delaware
This will be an intense game for both sides as the 2004 national champions travel north to the 2003 national champions. The Dukes have not won on the Blue Hens' home field since 1994.

Nov. 5 ~ JMU @ W&M
The Dukes go to Williamsburg for W&M's first game under permanent lights hoping to once again spoil the Tribe's night as JMU did in the 2004 national semifinals. The Dukes have not lost on the Tribe's home field since 2001.

Hyping this a bit? JMU has only played at Hofstra twice all time, in 1999 and 2002, losing the first and winning the latter. In that light, not losing at Hofstra since 1999 is a bit less glamorous.

GS @ Northeastern- Boston is always an adventure. Might have to bring a jacket. Should be a good game.

GS @ Appalachain- how can I most look foward to this place? i just want to win and go home. Oh and its cold there too.

GS @ Wofford- a 3-0 start for the first time since 2001?

I got to agree with you. Georgia Southern will be a great road trip. I think McNeese will show up. I went to Georgia Southern in 2000 when McNeese played in round one of the playoffs. Nice fans and nice place. Looking forward to going back.

I am also looking forward to the Southern Mississippi game. It has been a long time since McNeese played Southern Mississsippi in the Independence Bowl and lost with only seconds to go. It is past time to get some revenge. I will be there for this game also. I think a lot of fans will make the trip!

When we played A&M in 2000, I think it was, we hung with them the first half and were only down 13-6 or something like that until Slocum took them inside and chewed on the buttocks then they came out in the 2nd half and ripped us apart. Tough place to play.

I'm looking for some Hen hosts who want to show off they always tout as a great tailgating and atmosphere. I want to check it out for myself. and meet as many board Hens as possible I like to put faces with Usernames. :) 89 You have to show up at least once. :D

The one in Chattanooga in December is the one I'm most interested in attending! ;) I'll also be at Oregon, Northern Arizona, Sac State, and Idaho State. I always enjoy hanging out with the opposition tailgaters - good memories even when the GRIZ lose. Unfortunately, I'll miss the Montana State Game for the first time in twenty years - it just isn't prudent to risk my family's safety any longer. :(

Coastal 89. BTW, it's "you're" not "your." Geez.
Jealous??? ASU IS your LSU game!!! You might as well just stay at Tweetsie that afternoon on your way up.
Just think what it will look like if LSU stomps App by 50 as expected and we beat your sorry butts by 40 or 50. That should tell you a lot about the Coastal program. The difference is we'll be bringing home a $350,000 check and a great time in one of the nation's premier college venues. You'll be bringing home maybe $50K, a miserable time in the pre-remodeled KBS, and some Tweetsie ticket stubs.
Enjoy.

I would say McNeese fans are looking forward to the Sam Houston game. As you said, even with our season last year, the McNeese-Sam Houston game was a nail biter.

McNeese fans just don't know what to expect this year. None of us expected what happened last year. We know we have talent, but will they come together and play as team? Can we cut the turnovers to a 1/4 of last years turnovers? Can our offense move the ball? Can the defense tackle and pass cover? After last year, we all just don't know what to expect!

UM at Oregon: Fortunatly the other games to look forward to are at home.

UM/MSU: That's a given.

I hate to say it but this years schedule is a real downer after the previous two years relative to the opponents being played. I understand the need to schedule the way we did this year but I sure looked forward to those games with Hoftsra, Maine, SHSU etc. Hopefully we make the playoffs so we can see them but then I also hope they are home games.

I think I am more familiar with A10 then I am the BSC after the past two years of play. I sure have a lot more respect for the A10 than I did. Seems like every team in the conference is tough.

CCU @ Elon - it's the first game of our season and 1st vs a SoCon opponent

CCU @ SCSU - Good food and band

CCU @ Savannah State - it starts @ 1:30 which means I'll have some time to scoot on over to Statesboro for the Furman game @ 4 :D

CCU @ Charleston Southern - would like to see how this team has improved, if at all

Looking forward to Georgetown at Cornell on Oct. 15. Not only is Cornell among the most scenic campuses anywhere, but it was the site of a 42-20 Georgetown win two years ago at Schoellkopf Field.

Cornell also has a great marching band. The morning of the Georgetown game, they marched throughout campus, no easy task since the CU campus is very large. As the band passed the dining hall, they were joined by the football team, clad in Cornell red blazers, which walked behind the band en route to the stadium. Neat stuff.

Already have my tickets ordered for The Tub on September 10, as well as our invasion of The Yard at Cambridge on October 1. Both games should be intense.
Bucknell will be pretty in October, nice old horseshoe stadium and we'll have as many in the stands as they will. Also returning to the Bronx in November--scene of one of the most exciting finishes ever two years ago in OT.
Sorry, 13, can't make it to Hamilton this year--will be soaking up the rays in Fla.--but I'll be listening...

A lot of our fans will probably say they're looking forward to the Tulane game, but other than the novelty of playing a I-A school, it's down a bit on my list. I'm really looking forward to the playing Northwestern State because I'm anxious so see how much progress we've made since they hung 87 on us two years ago! (Well, actually 52...we gave them 35!).

Of course I'm also looking forward to Northern Colorado. When you're from the bayou, there's nothing like a trip to the Rockies!!!

September 3rd at Bucknell. The ride is not bad at all and...

It's the season opener for both teams
It's being played under the lights (Saturday evening)
I hear they are expecting a big crowd
The stadium is an excellent place to watch a game
The campus is really beautiful (can't say much for the town)

Also anxious to check out Cornell, if I can make it.

Not my favorite trip, but Montana St. is at Eastern Wash. (6 1/2- 7 hr. drive), but it should be a deciding factor in who wins the Big Sky. Griz have them at home, which should be a great game. Usually it's not decided until the Cat/Griz game at the end of the season, a really great game.

It's not that we're not looking forward to seing you guy's come to town, it's just that we're looking forward to seeing our own team in Lake Charles show up this year.

SHSU and all the other SLC schools need to work harder to get their fans to travel in groups or 3 or 4 thousand a pop like McNeese travels. THAT would help McNeese fans look forward to getting visited by other SLC schools.

For the first season of Missouri State Bears football, I will have to say the road game I am looking forward to the most is September 3rd vs The University of Arkansas.

But within 1-AA I would rank our away games in the following order:
1. @ Sam Houston. Sep. 24 Talk about an amazing game last season, I am sure SHSU will be ready to kick the crap out of MO State, but this Bears team is much improved from last season, so it should be a great game.

2. @ Southern Illinois Oct. 1

3. @ Western Kentucky Oct. 15

4. @ Youngstown State Oct. 22

5. @ Western Illinois Nov. 12

It's purely a coincidence that as the season goes on, the games get a little less interesting. :)

But really, I am looking forward to EVERY game this season. It should be really special.

EWU for sure, last year was a nailbiter, defenseless OT thriller. 51-44 I think was the final, that was ridiculous.

I look forward to a little payback between two offenses that really haven't changed at all from last year. Meyer and Kimble scare me something awful. ;)

Appy State - I wouldn't miss it for all the tea in China.

Liberty - Should be a good game in Lynchburg. Plus the time would be just right for the leaves to change color in the hills.

SC State - I want to see the new studium our new lottery paid for. ;)

Savannah State - I don't think so. I learned my lesson last time: :bang:

Chuck South - As long as we're in the Big South they will always be our rival.

"Appy" State?? The loser's fans should have to agree not to call the other "Appy" State or Coastal "Cackalina" until they play again.

Actually, the opponents with the most formidable programs seldom refer to ASU as Appy. Sportswriters, however, who couldn't spell their way out of 2nd grade are sometimes forced to use "Appy." Appalachian fans forgive them.

To quote Keith Richards "I need love to keep me Appy"

Yeah, a stretch.

I'll be at two away games as part of the broadcast team (Houston & Tx state-sm), but I will be floating on the lake listening to the TTech game on that Saturday. My heart really doesn't jump out of my chest when the offer of driving hundreds of miles to have tortillas and other junk hurled at me comes up.

I'm making an effort for the McNeese game. Never made the trip to the Lake Chuckie before. Looking forward to some great Louisiana hospitality.

Boone is a good time... but make sure to bring your own booze because they only serve beer and wine at their bars!

Lehigh at Delaware for the tradition and rivalry - both teams are evenly matched and it should be a great game under the lights.

Lehigh at Harvard - I've never been to Harvard Stadium; I did the Yale Bowl last year, so I'm making the rounds of the historic Ivy stadiums. Besides, it should be a great game.

I'll be at every game. I am looking forward to the Tech and N. Colorado trips the most though. You should do whatever you can in order to make the trip to McNeese. I have been there the last two contests ('01 & '03), and although we lost both, it was a great atmosphere and a good time for the most part.

Lafayette at Holy Cross (relatively close to me)
Lafayette at Lehigh (usually cold and dreary but the sun's always shining when Lafayette beats Lehigh!).

IMO the Harvard Stadium is the best in the Ivys for tradition, size and class. Also, the fact that it's right within the whole athletic complex (just a short walk over the bridge) makes it a lot more appealing than the off-campus Yale Bowl. The other near competitor would be Franklin Field, but it's just too big and looks out of place for a I-AA crowd. I would love to see that Lehigh game as well...should be a battle.

For SIU the two road games that mean the most, @UNI and @WKU. Those are the two biggest in the conference besides UNI@WKU.
