I was looking at just the T25, but yes that is just a joke. Hell WCU has a reason to be in the Too Low/Way Too Low category.

Each year I think the STATS and Coach's polls are getting worse when they probably are just staying at the same level of crappiness. But, I think it will be real fun this year to compare the projected field and seeds for these two polls along with the AGS poll in comparison to what the committee puts out next Sunday.

Eastern Washington is sucking all of the d***s.It is a SOS vote, their FCS losses are NDSU, SUU and Weber, JSU hasn't played a single FCS team as good as any of those three. Deal with it.

I don’t want to be the bearer of bad news, but you’ve become one of Furman’s most ardent supporters on this forum.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy for the support, but... just in case you didn’t know that was going on and needed some sort of intervention...

What would happen if the all the major ADs in the FCS contacted the STATS and Coaches Polls administrators and told them they had no confidence in their ability to accurately rate things.

Historically, do either of these polls reflect the reality of the playoff field? Or can we be confident that the committee completely ignores this?

Nope. Last year was as good of an example as any year. These were the top 8 for the final regular season poll for both STATS and the Coaches and the adjustment in parenthesis is how the committee seeded it.

STATS
1. Sam Houston St (-4)
2. Jacksonville St (-1)
3. Eastern Washington (+1)
4. North Dakota St (+3)
5. James Madison (+1)
6. The Citadel (-)
7. South Dakota St (-1)
8. North Dakota (+1)

Coaches
1. Sam Houston St (-4)
2. Jacksonville St (-1)
3. North Dakota St (+2)
4. Eastern Washington (+2)
5. James Madison (+1)
6. The Citadel (-)
7. South Dakota St (-1)
8. North Dakota (+1)

And for comparison's sake....

AGS Poll
1. North Dakota St (-)
2. Eastern Washington (-)
3. Jacksonville St (-)
4. James Madison (-)
5. Sam Houston St (-)
6. The Citadel (-)
7. South Dakota St (-1)
8. North Dakota (+1)

Officially the committee ignores all polls and rating systems when setting the field outside of the NCAA developed SRS but it's a pretty obvious trend to see which poll they generally align with most closely come Selection Sunday. :D

The polling has Furman and Samford lumped fairly close together.

I know a lot of folks are of the mind that Samford/Furman is a playoff elimination game, and it may be, but I don't see either team dropping significantly with a loss. Furman, obviously, has the better case for inclusion at 7-4 than Samford does. I think a lot remains to be seen on what happens nationally.

It’s where the voters want us to be.

Who? I am surprised AGS even has NCAT at 13. It has been established how horrible STATS and Coaches are, so I want you to justify it with your schedule and ranked wins as to why you are worthy of it. The fact that you said "It's where the voters want us to be" is a horrible argument and proves you do not deserve it.

I've been saying it for about a month now. I think Furman's would get in the playoffs easily at 7-4 in a year where the bubble wasn't so big. If they win, they're in, and they'll deserve a spot.

Sucks that they'll play Wofford in the second round though

Thanks YT. Appreciate a rival being objective w his support. And you know more than most nationally about SoCon bc you see Wofford v same teams and then see Furmans scores vs same teams. 56-20 on Citadel? Helllo !!! 42-0 or so before they scored. 35-0 at half. Worst lost for Citadel prior was by 21 or so to Samford. Not close

The committee is as accurate as the AGS poll. They are the ones who would be wrong. It is common knowledge on here that our poll is the most accurate predictor for playoff teams outside of AQs. Last year, we had a "perfect poll" in that all the At-Larges were in our poll.

The AGS poll nailed the field last year as well. This was the poll released prior to Selection Sunday (autobids are underlined, at large are bolded). Grambling and NC Central weren't eligible since they were in the Celebration Bowl.
